  • Patent number: 8872814
Abstract: The system includes a module to receive data representing media content, such as a video image, a photograph, and an audio or video file, each being of a first dimension. An encoding module encoded the received data using a parametric number representation system, such a Multiple Base Number System, which includes a combination of fused numerical representation system. A decomposing module decomposes the encoded data into a plurality of signals or slices. A generating module to take the decomposed data and generates data representing the media content in a second dimension that is of a higher order that the first dimension. An output module to output a media representation of the generated higher order data. The media, by way of example could be a 3D image of a received 2D image.

  • Patent number: 8285070
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for restoration of a digital image. In one embodiment, a method for repairing a defect in a digital image to provide a restored image comprises determining a plurality of pixel locations to form a neighborhood relating to the defect and whether or not the neighborhood has a well-defined, dark border along its edge. Should the neighborhood not have dark border, one embodiment of the method entails processing the neighborhood to bring the neighborhood approximately to uniform darkness, processing the neighborhood to match surroundings in the digital image, copying an edge of a neighborhood in the digital image into the processed neighborhood, processing pixels of the edge to repair the copied edge pixels, and outputting the restored image for display to a user.

  • Publication number: 20100263244
Abstract: The objective of the present invention is providing autonomous timing labels for indicating the aging and expiration of a time period of products through gradual changing of their color. The color change can be coded to run, for example, from blue for newly produced products to red with product aging thus allowing easy monitoring, quick identification, and visual warning when the elapsed time approaches and reaches the recommended or safe use time. Said labels comprise thin films of photonic bandgap materials such as cholesteric liquid crystals containing photoisomerizable molecules that are transformed into the state of isomers possessing with finite lifetime with the aid of exposure of the material to UV light. The change of the reflection wavelength of the photonic bandgap material takes place according to changing concentration of said isomers as a result of spontaneous relaxation to their equilibrium state. Said labels can be reused by UV light exposure.

  • Patent number: 7046856
Abstract: The present invention is drawn to a method for digital image modeling in which the digital image is divided into digital image blocks. First, a coder input vector of the digital image blocks is received. Second, a coefficient vector is approximated, each coefficient or coefficient vector corresponding to one of the digital image blocks. The approximating step further comprises generating a transformation matrix that yields a coefficient vector from a product of the coder input vector and decomposing the transformation matrix into a product of multi-diagonal or sparse unitary transformation matrixes and an energy sequencer unitary transformation matrix.
