Abstract: There is disclosed an image recording method for recording data on a recording material by a recording head which reciprocates in a direction substantially perpendicular to a conveyance direction of the recording material. A plurality of recording materials are conveyed in parallel with one anther and in the same direction, and a plurality of recording heads are independently driven on a common guide member, which is disposed to be perpendicular to the conveyance direction. The images are recorded on the plurality of recording materials in parallel with and independently of one another. The recording speed in recording the images on the plurality of recording materials can be increased. A high-speed recording is possible without deteriorating an image quality, and an apparatus is prevented from being enlarged.

Abstract: A color recording method and device which is capable of color recording images on large-sized paper in which a first color is developed in direct heat sensitive paper by directly supplying heat energy of thermal heads to the direct heat sensitive paper. Furthermore, in order to transfer a color ink to the direct heat sensitive paper to thereby obtain a second color, the heat energy of the thermal heads is supplied to a plurality of ink ribbons which are coated with both a desensitizing material for controlling the coloring reaction of the direct heat sensitive paper and the desired colored inks.

Abstract: A printing method for performing enlargement printing of one continuous line by simultaneously shifting a plurality of printing heads by a shifting magnitude. The shifting magnitude of the printing heads is set to be greater than a shifting magnitude utilized in standard printing. Dividing points for shifting traces of each of the printing heads are set such that the shifting traces of adjacent printing heads partially overlap one another. Divided printing zones are established between the dividing points, and the printing timing of the printing heads is controlled for performing the enlargement printing of the one continuous line. Additionally, a printing method for performing reduction printing of one continuous line is performed by setting a shifting magnitude of the printing heads to be equal to that used in standard printing. Divided printing zones are established to be printed by at least two printing heads in a non-overlapping manner.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for thermal recording and thermal transfer recording in a multicolor system. After performing the thermal recording, the thermal transfer recording is performed by overlaying a portion thermally recorded already. A thermal transfer donor sheet has a thermal transfer layer containing a desensitizer for suppressing a coloring reaction in the thermal recording layer of the thermal recording sheet. In performing multicolor recording by overlapping images of plural documents, after an image of a first document has been thermally recorded on a recording sheet, an image of a second document is recorded on the same recording sheet by thermal transfer recording. No color mixture occurs between colors thermally recorded and thermally transferred respectively and bright and clear color development can be obtained.

Abstract: An image processing method of coloring an image with colors of well harmonized or matched group. Plural color groups, each including plural grouped colors and giving an individually different mental effect or impression, are stored in a memory, and a specified color group is selected from the stored plural color groups to color the image with colors included in the thus selected color group. Also provided is a system for the practice of the method described above.
