  • Patent number: 4893236
Abstract: An electronic cash register comprising a key input device having a plurality of operation keys, a file structured memory unit whose memory region is divided into a plurality of file storage regions for storing a plurality of different types of accumulated data, and a control unit for controlling the key input device and the memory unit. The control unit controls the memory unit so as to change the space allocation of a desired file storage region, generate a required file storage region, or erase a predetermined storage region.

  • Patent number: 4851994
Abstract: In the present invention, data input/output equipment is connected in communication with a host machine which provides a plurality of service application programs by designating system parameters of one or more common programs. A mode setting feature designates at least a program setting mode and an execution mode. A program RAM stores at least one common program being loaded from the host machine. A parameter setting feature designates parameters included in the common program loaded in the program setting mode to define a plurality of application programs, each of which is available for a specified service. A parameter RAM memorizes the designated parameters. An entry data RAM memorizes entry data, and a service selecting feature designates one of the application programs in the execution mode.

  • Patent number: 4811219
Abstract: An electronic cash register (ECR) comprising a memory containing addresses identical to those of the mask ROM that permanently stores a variety of trade processing programs and stores data indicating whether any change should be applied to such programs stored in those addresses. Other memories are provided for storing the memory bank data memorizing the addresses of the modified programs among such programs stored in the mask ROM and the modified programs and also storing the modified programs themselves. The electronic cash register embodied by the present invention permits the system to easily and securely write and store a variety of data necessary for changing programs stored in the mask ROM in those memories mentioned above via an input provided for inputting and processing a variety of trading data.

  • Patent number: 4807186
Abstract: A data input/output terminal includes a central processing unit, a random access memory (RAM), a display unit, and various data entry devices for inputting and outputting data to a host processor. The terminal includes the capability of setting program execution parameters which are necessary for the proper execution of various programs, and stores check sum codes of the parameters into an area of the RAM. Upon initial turn-on of power, the terminal determines the correct storage of the parameters in the RAM by re-calculating the check sum codes and comparing the re-calculated codes with the codes previously stored in the memory. The terminal also determines whether the RAM contains additional data storage capacity and indicates whether the RAM is capable of storing additional data or whether the RAM is full.

  • Patent number: 4502120
Abstract: A subsystem comprises an input device for inputting data, an operation device for operating the data, a memory device for memorizing the data, and a transmitting device for dividing the data into parts and transmitting every of the parts of the data into a master system. The master system comprises a receiving device for receiving the parts of the data. The capacity of the receiving device for receiving one of the parts of the data is identical with the capacity of the memory device for memorizing said one of the parts of the data. Preferably, a plurality of subsystems are connected to the sole master system. At least one of the master system and the subsystems is an electronic cash register.
