  • Patent number: 6550446
Abstract: An air intake flow device to manipulate the airflow in an air entry chamber of a positive displacement internal combustion engine. The air intake flow device is comprised of a skirt defining an air flow passageway, multiple vanes extending into the airflow passageway from a first leading edge at the surface of the skirt. The configuration of the vanes direct the airflow into a vortex like configuration which is understood to improve air intake across the intake valve into the combustion chamber and thereby improve oxidation of the fuel. The airflow device is preferably constructed in a fashion so that the installer of the device can readily adapt its configuration by applying hand pressure from a first manufactured configuration to second installation configuration. Thus, the device is suitable for adaptation to various air entry chamber shapes.

  • Publication number: 20020104777
Abstract: A package which can display the contents includes a carton having at least a portion of a front wall which is transparent. Inside the cavity of the carton is an insert which has a plurality of projections having clamps which are designed to engage portions of the displayed contents, the projections extending away from the back of the carton to lend a three-dimensional effect to the display. The insert may be of a transparent plastic material so that the inside surfaces of the carton may be decorated in a fashion independent of the shape of the product displayed or the manner in which it is positioned. The insert also has a number of extension arms which register the insert securely inside the cavity, and which may also act as supports for the insert to act as a display stand when not inside the carton.

  • Patent number: RE29364
Abstract: .Iadd.A method of laying pipe on the floor of a body of water to form a pipeline in which the pipe section to be joined is at all times securely and stably supported by a mobile frame such that, during alignment and engagement, the pipe is substantially free from the influence of wave and current action. A pipe section is first releasably attached to a mobile frame, then lowered to the floor where it is placed in a stable-fixed position on the floor generally aligned with but spaced from the end of the previously laid pipe. The end is then aligned with the pipeline by lateral and/or tilting movement of the frame, and then moved axially into engagement with the end of the pipeline. The alignment and engagement procedures may be observed, directed and/or controlled from a region at atmospheric pressure. The method may also include holding the engaged pipe section in a stable position while placing ballast material thereunder. After engagement, the frame is released from the section and returned to the surface..
