Patent number: 11701214Abstract: A system for heart valve repair includes a packaging assembly for storing the replacement heart valve. The packaging assembly includes a valve support having a base for holding the replacement heart valve, a ring positioned within the valve support and configured to fit around a circumference of the replacement heart valve, and a retention mechanism. The retention mechanism includes a cap and plurality of sutures configured to be attached to the cap and to the replacement heart. The packaging assembly having a locked configuration in which the ring and the valve support are locked together and the sutures tension the replacement heart valve. The packaging assembly is designed to hold and transport a replacement heart valve and fits within a shipment jar.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2021Date of Patent: July 18, 2023Assignee: Cephea Valve Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Evelyn Haynes, Jonathan Oakden, Spencer Noe, Aaron Grogan, David Wang

Patent number: 11633278Abstract: A prosthetic mitral valve includes an anchor assembly, a strut frame, and a plurality of replacement leaflets secured to the annular strut frame. The anchor assembly includes a ventricular anchor, an atrial anchor, and a central portion therebetween. The ventricular anchor and the atrial anchor are configured to flare radially outwards relative to the central portion. The annular strut frame is disposed radially within the anchor assembly and is attached to the anchor assembly. The central portion is configured to align with a native valve orifice and the ventricular anchor and the atrial anchor are configured to compress native cardiac tissue therebetween.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2020Date of Patent: April 25, 2023Assignee: Cephea Valve Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Spencer Noe, Dan Wallace, Jonathan Oakden

Patent number: 11617646Abstract: A prosthetic mitral valve includes an anchor assembly, an annular strut frame, and a plurality of replacement leaflets secured to the annular strut frame. The anchor assembly includes a ventricular anchor, an atrial anchor, and a central portion therebetween. The annular strut frame is disposed radially within the anchor assembly. An atrial end of the annular strut frame is attached to the anchor assembly such that a ventricular end of the annular strut frame is spaced away from the anchor assembly.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2020Date of Patent: April 4, 2023Assignee: Cephea Valve Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Dan Wallace, Spencer Noe, Peter Gregg, Juan F. Publication number: 20220192824Abstract: A prosthetic mitral valve includes a stent frame and an anchor assembly coupled to and peripherally surrounding the stent frame. The anchor assembly includes atrial anchors on the inflow end, ventricular anchors on the outflow end, and a central waist portion disposed therebetween. The anchor assembly generally defines an hourglass shape wherein the atrial and ventricular anchors flare radially outward and the central waist portion has a relatively smaller diameter. The prosthetic valve may include a gasket disposed peripherally around the central waist portion to seal the space between the body of the valve and the native valve annulus to prevent paravalvular leakage without increasing the profile of the valve to allow for smooth insertion into and deployment from a delivery device. The prosthetic valve may alternatively include a sealing fabric surrounding the anchor assembly defining a radial protrusion around the central waist portion to seal the native annulus.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 13, 2021Publication date: June 23, 2022Applicant: Cephea Valve Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Zachary R. Vidlund, Spencer Noe, Randolf Von Oepen
