    Abstract: A joint prothesis, which is suitable for small joints and can be implanted without using a cement, comprises two prothesis members (12, 14), each having a joint element (20, 22) made from from PE as well as an anchoring unit (16, 18) cast from titan. The anchoring unit (16, 18) each have a mounting plate (28) and at least one anchoring element (38) carried by the latter, which includes a core portion (40) and anchoring disks (42) carried by the latter. At least an end portion of the anchoring elements (38) is elastically and/or plastically deformable thus enabling the enchoring elements to conform to the contour of a cavity cut into a bone.
