Patent number: 10936635Abstract: A computer system processes a document. A user viewing a displayed text is monitored and it is determined that the user is experiencing difficulty understanding a query phrase in a displayed text, wherein the displayed text is translated from a first language to a second language. One or more alternative phrases are generated for the query phrase by determining a plurality of candidate phrases based on the context of the query phrase and a tone of the displayed text, scoring each of the plurality of candidate phrases, and selecting a candidate phrase to be the alternative phrase based on the score of the candidate phrase. The one or more alternative phrases are presented to the user. Embodiments of the present invention further include a method and program product for processing a document in substantially the same manner described above.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2018Date of Patent: March 2, 2021Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Kaluram Kumbhar, Sreenath Raghunath

Publication number: 20200410824Abstract: Aspects of the present invention disclose a method for determining and providing information to users in queue at an ATM based on actual and estimated resource usage of the ATM. The method includes one or more processors identifying a plurality of users in a queue at an automated teller machine (ATM). The method further includes determining historical ATM usage information associated with the identified plurality of users in the queue at the ATM. The method further includes determining respective ATM transaction estimates for the plurality of users in the queue at the ATM based on the determined historical ATM usage information. The method further includes determining respective transaction completion probabilities for the identified plurality of users completing the respective ATM transaction estimates based on a current resource supply of the ATM and the determined historical ATM usage information of the plurality of users in the queue at the ATM.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2019Publication date: December 31, 2020Inventors: Mandar Dattatraya Bhuvad, Manish Madhukarrao Tumbde, Sreenath Raghunath, Nitesh Jankilal Shreemali, Girish Padmanabhan

Patent number: 10825307Abstract: Aspects of the present invention disclose a method for determining and providing notifications regarding ATMs that can fulfill a transaction plan of a user. The method includes one or more processors determining a transaction plan for a user, the transaction plan including a schedule of future transactions of the user based on historical user data and user-provided information, wherein the determined transaction plan includes a forecast future withdrawal amount and corresponding time. The method further includes one or more processors identifying an automated teller machine (ATM) preferred by the user. The method further includes one or more processors determining whether the ATM preferred by the user can fulfill the determined transaction plan. In response to determining that the ATM preferred by the user cannot fulfill the determined transaction plan, the method further includes determining one or more alternate ATMs that can fulfill the determined transaction plan.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2019Date of Patent: November 3, 2020Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Mandar Dattatraya Bhuvad, Nitesh Jankilal Shreemali, Sreenath Raghunath, Manish Madhukarrao Tumbde, Girish Padmanabhan

Publication number: 20200175626Abstract: A system and method for identifying a value gap in a patent portfolio strategy of an organization. A processor of a computing system defines a first data cluster that includes a first plurality of focus areas that are ranked according to an internal ranking of the organization, and a second data cluster that includes a second plurality of focus areas having a universal market significance. A patent worthiness is ranked so that the second plurality of focus areas is ranked according to a universal ranking. A Kemeny distance is calculated between the internal ranking and the universal ranking for each focus area of the first plurality of focus areas. A loss function is applied using the Kemeny distance to calculate the value gap score which defines a business penalty for the misalignment between the patent portfolio strategy of the organization and a universal market focus.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 3, 2018Publication date: June 4, 2020Inventors: Harish Bharti, Sharath Sampath, Rajesh Kumar Saxena, Sreenath Raghunath

Patent number: 10623815Abstract: Aspects determine horizontal viewing angles for viewers of a display screen as a function of outer edge visual boundary lines projecting from outer edges of the display screen to different respective viewing locations of the viewers. The aspects determine locations of intersections of outer edge visual boundary lines defining the horizontal viewing angle of a first viewer with the outer edge visual boundary lines defining the horizontal viewing angles of the other viewers, and thereby a masking screen width dimension and spatial location for the first viewer as extending from an intersection location determined on one of the outer edge visual boundary lines defining the first viewer's viewing angle that is closest to the first viewer, to a point on another outer edge visual boundary line defining the first viewer's viewing angle that is outside of the viewing angles of the other viewers.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2017Date of Patent: April 14, 2020Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Harish Bharti, Abhay K. Publication number: 20180365780Abstract: The present invention is a system and method for detecting intellectual property infringement. The system comprises a computer processor, which receives a pattern including one or more strings. The pattern can represent an industry taxonomy, a business advantage, or a novelty claim from a patent. The system then assigns a hash value to each string in the pattern and assigns a hash value to each M-character subsequence in an intellectual property database. The intellectual property database includes product data from data sources such as trade fairs, journals, newspapers, case studies, and product press releases. The system then searches for and detects an M-character subsequence with a hash value equal to the hash value of the pattern. Thereafter, the pattern is compared to the M-character subsequence by character until unmatching characters are found. Finally, for each matching pattern, a notification is transmitted indicating a potential infringement match has been found.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 14, 2017Publication date: December 20, 2018Inventors: Harish Bharti, Sreenath Raghunath, Sharath Sampath
