  • Publication number: 20130347029
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for displaying media assets on user equipment. The first media asset that the user desires to view is displayed on a display screen of the user equipment and its associated content characteristic is identified. Upon receiving a request to access a different media asset, a search is initiated to identify a second media asset that matches the identified content characteristic of the displayed media asset. After such a media asset has been identified, it is determined whether the content source that provides such an identified media asset includes an advertisement at the time the user request is received. If the content source of the identified media asset does not include an advertisement at the time of the user request, then the identified media asset is displayed on the display screen of the user equipment.
