  • Patent number: 9633374
Abstract: A method and system for specifying content of interest using a digital radio broadcast receiver is described. A digital radio broadcast signal includes an alternate way of distributing content-rich Advertisements over the digital radio broadcast networks and rebroadcast these Advertisements over technologies like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and the like to smart devices. A digital out-of-home network system will act as a bridge to relay the received Advertisements to smart devices.

  • Publication number: 20140094132
Abstract: Embodiments may comprise radio data system logic to enter a sleep mode and wake periodically to receive a data packet. In several embodiments, the data packet is a Radio Data System (RDS) packet and the radio data system logic is RDS logic. Further embodiments may comprise radio data system logic to process the data packet to determine a first type field and to parse the first type field to identify a first indication. In several embodiments, parsing the data packet by the radio data system logic comprises parsing the data packet to determine a program type field and parsing the program type field to identify the first indication as an emergency alert indication. In response to identifying the first indication as a trigger, many embodiments wake up NRSC-5 compliant, In-band on-channel (IBOC) radio logic to process an Active Radio message to output information associated with the first indication.

  • Patent number: 8589634
Abstract: Enhancements to hardware architectures (e.g., a RISC processor or a DSP processor) to accelerate spectral band replication (SBR) processing are described. In some embodiments, instruction extensions configure a reconfigurable processor to accelerate SBR and other audio processing. In addition to the instruction extensions, execution units (e.g., multiplication and accumulation units (MACs)) may operate in parallel to reduce the number of audio processing cycles. Performance may be further enhanced through the use of source and destination units which are configured to work with the execution units and quickly fetch and store source and destination operands.
