The disc is rotatable between a fully open position and an intermediate position about an axis substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the disc. The disc is also translatable between the intermediate position and a fully closed position in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the disc. Such a valve may be incorporated into a fluid line of a fluid system.
