  • Patent number: 9398065
Abstract: A method and system may include a source station to provide wireless multicast transmission to a plurality of destination stations according to a protocol adaptation layer multicast management protocol. The topology includes audio/video sources and sinks and intervening branch devices. Messages between sources and sink devices may be used for resource management such as device discovery and certification. If certification is shown, the disclosed transmission performs AV streaming directly to the least one sink device without the need for a displayport (DP) interface or a high definition multimedia interface (HDMI) or additional bridge devices/dongles that convert WiGig to some other interface supported by the monitor.

  • Patent number: 9262000
Abstract: Systems, devices and methods are described including using a Human Interface Device (HID) source device to configure a HID sink device to provide interface data such as multi-touch data. The HID source device may enable a data module in the HID sink device to generate the interface data. After receiving the interface data the HID source device may generate output data and provide the output data to the HID sink device.

  • Publication number: 20150106486
Abstract: In general, in one aspect, the disclosure describes a method to assign unique addresses to each sink device in a content network based on port numbers of a source and branch devices in the network. Sink devices connected to a port on the source or the branch devices are assigned a corresponding port number as a sink address. Branch devices connected to a port on the source or higher level branch devices have a corresponding port number prepended to the previously assigned sink addresses.

  • Patent number: 8984155
Abstract: Resources may be managed in a topology for audio/video streaming. DisplayPort is a digital audio/video interconnect standard of the Video Electronic Standards Association (VESA). It allows video and audio to be coupled from a computer to a video display or an audio playback system. The topology includes audio/video sources and sinks and intervening branch devices. Messages between these sources, sinks, and branch devices may be used for resource management.

  • Patent number: 8971235
Abstract: Wireless sinks, such as displays, may receive wirelessly transmitted audio/video information in clone mode. In one embodiment, the same audio/video stream may be provided to a plurality of sinks daisy chained from a wireless receiver.

  • Publication number: 20150054755
Abstract: DisplayPort topology may be managed in the presence of sink devices that can stream audio/visual (AV) content to the source device, or can receive or transmit IO information from/to the source device. This IO information may include raw sensor data for a touch screen, for example. The framework could be used to support/map other published IO interface standards, over DisplayPort interface. A high bandwidth receive path can be configured in the topology independent of the transmit path to support inbound IO and AV functions.

  • Patent number: 8918569
Abstract: A source of video data may be coupled to a plurality of sinks using a wireless branch device with more than one connector. Numbers may be assigned to the connectors in a sequence depending on the wireless technology used by each connector. Examples of wireless technologies include DisplayPort, HDMI, and Wireless Gigabit Alliance. Sinks coupled to the branch device are interrogated to determine the number of connectors and each connector's wireless technology.

  • Patent number: 8842111
Abstract: Techniques are described that can be used to adjust a refresh rate of a display device. For example, the refresh rate change can be triggered by a user application for a variety of circumstances such as a change in power source from AC to DC or display of 24 frames per second (fps) video. Contents of a primary buffer can be copied to a dummy buffer and a display engine can read video from the dummy buffer to provide video to a display. The clock rate of a clock used to read out pixels can be adjusted using software commands. Video is written to another buffer and during a vertical blanking interval, the display engine reads frames from the another buffer instead of the dummy buffer.

  • Publication number: 20140241380
Abstract: A data packet or payload defined by a first format, is generated and is wrapped with headers as defined by a second format, and is processed through a pass through mechanism for transmission based on the second format. The processing includes adding or encapsulating the payload in the transmission data packet. When receiving the transmitted data packet, the headers may be parsed, and the payload processed.
