Patent number: 11184457Abstract: Systems and techniques for information-centric network data cache management are described herein. A demand metric may be calculated for a content item requested from an information-centric network (ICN). A resistance metric may be calculated for each cache node of a set of cache nodes in the ICN based on the demand metric. A topology of the set of cache nodes may be evaluated to identify a transmission cost for each cache node of the set of cache nodes. Publication number: 20210328783Abstract: System and techniques for decentralized key generation and management are described herein. An information centric network (ICN) node receives a first ICN interest packet for public encryption parameters of an identity based encryption (IBE) key generation center (KGC). Public encryption parameters for the KGC are received in a first ICN data packet in response to the first ICN interest packet. The public encryption parameters are cached and used to respond a second ICN interest packet for the public parameters. A third ICN data packet may be received from the KGC in response to a key generation request. Here, the third data packet includes an indication that the third ICN data packet is part of a one-time session. Then, the third ICN data packet is transmitted without caching the third ICN data packet content based on the indication.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2021Publication date: October 21, 2021Inventors: Kshitij Arun Doshi, Francesc Guim Bernat, Srikathyayani Srikanteswara, Ned M. Publication number: 20210320988Abstract: System and techniques for information centric network unstructured data carrier are described herein. A user plane function (UPF) node receives an initiation for a packet data unit (PDU) session of user equipment (UE). Here, the initiation includes an indication for an ICN session and a PDU session identification (ID). The PDU session may then map the PDU session to the PDU session ID in an ICN routing data structure. Here, the ICN routing data structure is one or both of the pending interest table (PIT) or the forwarding interest base (FIB) of the UPF node. An ICN packet (interest or data packet) may be from the UE contained within a PDU on from the PDU session that conforms to an unstructured-data classification as defined by a 3GPP 5G family of standards. The ICN packet is extracted from the PDU and routed in accordance with the ICN routing data structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2021Publication date: October 14, 2021Inventors: Yi Zhang, Gabriel Arrobo Vidal, Srikathyayani Srikanteswara, Francesc Guim Bernat, Christian Maciocco

Patent number: 11140025Abstract: Systems and techniques for mission critical (MC) push notification mechanism in a high-reliability (HR) information centric network (ICN) are described herein. For example, a node may test network links to other nodes to classify the other nodes into proximate nodes and non-proximate nodes based on a reception metric. The node may then elect a set of leader nodes from the proximate nodes. Here, the set of leader nodes are selected based on link quality between respective leader nodes and non-proximate nodes. The node may detect an MC event and create an ICN data packet that contains data from the MC event. The node may then transmit the ICN data packet to the set of leader nodes that then relay the ICN data packet to the non-proximate nodes.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2019Date of Patent: October 5, 2021Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Satish Chandra Jha, S. Publication number: 20210258988Abstract: Systems and methods of using machine-learning to improve communications across different networks are described. A CIRN node identifies whether it is within range of a source and destination node in a different network using explicit information or a machine-learning classification model. A neural network is trained to avoid interference using rewards associated with reduced interference or retransmission levels in each network or improved throughput at the CIRN node. A machine-learning scheduling algorithm determines a relay mode of the CIRN node for source and destination node transmissions. The scheduling algorithm is based on the probability of successful transmission between the source and destination nodes multiplied by a collaboration score for successful transmission and the probability of unsuccessful transmission of the particular packet multiplied by a collaboration score for unsuccessful transmission.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 28, 2018Publication date: August 19, 2021Inventors: Ravikumar Balakrishnan, Nageen Himayat, Yiting Liao, Gabriel Arrobo Vidal, Roya Doostnejad, Vijay Sarathi Kesavan, Venkatesan Nallampatti Ekambaram, Maria Ramirez Loaiza, Vallabbajosyula S. Patent number: 11044309Abstract: Techniques are provided for optimizing the operations of an ICN, particularly for an ICN with clustered nodes. A cluster head node may function as an orchestrator and a coordinator for efficient caching, routing, and computing and for co-existence of ICN and IP nodes in the network. A content store of an ICN router may include an indication of the time after which data expires and the new data is to be swapped in place of the expired data after that point in time. Digital rights management (DRM) enforcement is provided by managing access to a DRM engine in at least one of the ICN nodes in a cluster. Congestion control is provided by minimizing the number of ICN scoped interest requests and thereby minimizing the potentially high volume of data responses. These techniques optimize interest packet forwarding and processing through collaboration with neighboring ICN nodes.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2019Date of Patent: June 22, 2021Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Satish Chandra Jha, Kathiravetpillai Sivanesan, Ned M. Patent number: 11006280Abstract: Embodiments of an Evolved Node-B (eNB), Private Spectrum Access System (SAS) controller, and methods for communication in shared spectrum are generally described herein. In some cases, primary usage of the shared spectrum by incumbent devices may be prioritized over secondary usage of the shared spectrum. The eNB may receive, from the Private SAS controller, a configuration message that allocates, to the eNB, a first channel included in the shared spectrum for secondary usage by the eNB. The eNB may further receive, from the Private SAS controller, a request that the eNB determine an interference measurement and may send the interference measurement to the Private SAS controller. The measurement may be based on an output transmit power used for transmission by the eNB in the shared spectrum.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2019Date of Patent: May 11, 2021Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Markus Dominik Mueck, Srikathyayani Srikanteswara, David M. Publication number: 20210119901Abstract: System and techniques for information centric network (ICN) protocol for federated learning are described herein. An interest packet may be received on a first interface to start a federated learning round. Here, the interest packet includes a participant criterion and a federated learning round expiration. An entry, that includes the federated learning round expiration, is created in a pending interest table (PIT) for the interest packet. The interest packet is forwarded, in accordance with a forwarding information base (FIB), to a set of interfaces before the federated learning round expiration. When a data packet from a node, that meeting the participant criterion, is received in response to the interest packet, the data packet is forwarded on the first interface in accordance with the PIT entry.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2020Publication date: April 22, 2021Inventors: Ravikumar Balakrishnan, Srikathyayani Srikanteswara, Nageen Himayat

Publication number: 20200412836Abstract: Systems and techniques for dynamic computation in an information centric network (ICN) are described herein. An interest packet to perform a computation may be received at a first interface of an ICN node. The ICN node may then perform a lookup in a forwarding information base (FIB) to identify a second interface to forward the interest packet. The interest packet may be forwarded on the second interface. Upon receipt of a data packet on the second interface in response to the interest packet, the ICN node may update an entry in the FIB for the second interfaces with a processing payload included in the data packet. The ICN node may then transmit the data packet downstream towards the originator of the interest packet.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 16, 2020Publication date: December 31, 2020Inventors: Gabriel Arrobo Vidal, Srikathyayani Srikanteswara, Daojing Guo
