  • Patent number: 11351988
Abstract: A vehicle includes a set of sound sensors coupled to one or more processing systems that process sound data from the set of sound sensors in order to provide assisted driving features or functionality such as an emergency vehicle avoidance.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 26, 2018
Date of Patent: June 7, 2022
    Assignee: Byton North America Corporation
Inventors: Baharak Soltanian, Man Chun Tsang, Srini Gowda, Dirk Abendroth
  • Patent number: 10913393
Abstract: Embodiments are described of an apparatus including a computer with a user interface. One or more door clearance detection (DCD) sensors are communicatively coupled to the computer and adapted to be mounted to an exterior of a vehicle door. Each vehicle door has a door impact zone such that an object in the impact zone would be struck by the door if opened, and each DCD sensor has a field of view and a range that establish a detection zone within which the DCD sensor can collect data. Each detection zone includes at least the corresponding door impact zone. Logic stored in the memory or storage includes instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to receive data from the one or more DCD sensors; determine whether there are objects in the corresponding door impact zone; and warn vehicle occupants if there are objects in the impact zones.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: February 9, 2021
    Assignee: Byton Limited
Inventors: Man Chun Tsang, Srini Gowda, Soumendu Chanda, Pradip Mukherjee, Dirk Abendroth
  • Patent number: 10759362
Abstract: A car includes a factory installed harness and a factory installed data processing component coupled to the factory installed harness. The factory installed harness is configured to receive an assisted driving hardware component in order to allow the assisted driving hardware component to make electrical connection with the data processing component when the assisted driving hardware component is installed by the car's owner or user or dealer. The assisted driving hardware component can be a user installed LIDAR to add to the car's assisted driving functionality.

  • Publication number: 20200023834
Abstract: An assisted driving system can provide forward clearance guidance for a vehicle by using data about an object attached to the vehicle and data about a space in an expected path of travel of the vehicle. The data about the object can be input into the vehicle's data processing systems through a mobile application on a driver's smartphone, and the mobile application can be configured to exchange information with the vehicle's data processing systems through a wired (e.g. USB) or wireless (e.g., Bluetooth) interface.

  • Publication number: 20190389487
Abstract: Systems and methods describe detecting, from a first vehicle, a second vehicle to the rear of the first vehicle and determining a speed of the second vehicle. Systems and method continue to determine, based on the speed of the second vehicle, that there is an unsafe distance between the first vehicle and the second vehicle and present, on a user interface of the first vehicle, a warning indicating that there is an unsafe distance between the first vehicle and the second vehicle.
