Publication number: 20150261986Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described that provide for wireless searching in a location tracking environment. The methods, systems, and/or devices may include tools and techniques that provide for analyzing requests for location data of an entity and preparing a response set based on the request and the available tags. Response sets may include location data for the requested entity, location data for a second entity different from the requested entity, a clarifying question, or a null value. Multiple requests may be received and an order of evaluation will be determined. Results may be adjusted for individual users. Categories as well as individual entities may be searched. Upon receiving a response set, a mobile device may display directions to the identified entity.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2014Publication date: September 17, 2015Applicant: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Siavash Ekbatani, Srinivas Chilukuri

Publication number: 20150091702Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for automatically changing the manner in which a tag unit communicates with one or more access points based on the tag unit's mobility state are described. A tag unit may transmit ultra-wideband (UWB) signals in a low update mode while in a stationary state. The tag unit may transmit UWB signals in a high update mode while in a mobile state. The tag unit, an access point, and/or a tracking management server may determine a tag unit's mobility state and adjust an update mode based on the mobility state.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2013Publication date: April 2, 2015Applicant: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Alok Kumar Gupta, Srinivas Chilukuri, Scott Howard King

Patent number: 8799490Abstract: Systems, methodologies, media, and other embodiments associated with provisioning an Internet Protocol (IP) core network services multimedia subsystem (IMS) are described. One exemplary system embodiment includes a Home Subscriber Server (HSS) logic operably connectable to components including, a user database, an application server (AS), and a permissions database. The HSS logic may be a component of an IMS that facilitates communications between application servers and users. Thus, the HSS logic may be configured to receive an AS-to-user-database-interface-message (AUDIM) and to selectively update the permissions database based, at least in part, on the AUDIM. The user database may store user data concerning IMS users and the permissions database may store information for controlling AUDIM initiated interactions between an AS and the user database.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2005Date of Patent: August 5, 2014Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: John I. Ayers, Jeffrey M. Cameron, Srinivas Chilukuri

Publication number: 20080268839Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention pertain to reducing a number of registration termination messages in a network for cellular devices. According to one embodiment, information is received at a server indicating that a first network entity associated with the network is providing a service to a cellular device. Information is received at the server indicating that a second network entity associated with the network is providing the service to the cellular device. Logic associated with the server is executed to determine whether to send a registration termination message to the first network entity. The logic enables the server to send a registration termination message to one of a plurality of network entities that communicates with the server without requiring the server to send a registration termination message to another of the plurality of network entities.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2007Publication date: October 30, 2008Inventors: John I. Ayers, Anders H. Askerup, Srinivas Chilukuri, Jeffrey M. Cameron

Publication number: 20070232285Abstract: A call answering system and methods for use on a mobile network is provided. In an illustrative implementation, a call answering system operable on the mobile network comprises a call answering engine and one or more instruction sets to instruct the call answering engine to process calls on the mobile network according to a selected call paradigm. In an illustrative operation, the call answering engine allows mobile phones to be categorized in an answering group such that if a call is made to one of the mobile phones of the answering group, all of the mobile phones of the answering group are notified and are allowed to answer and/or join the call.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2006Publication date: October 4, 2007Inventors: Steven Lush, Bradley Kenyon, Richard Gerbeling, Jeffrey Cameron, Robert Miller, Srinivas Chilukuri

Publication number: 20040248563Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for processing call-forward telephone numbers received by a computer system from a subscriber of the computer system. The computer system includes a call-processing subsystem and a provisioning subsystem. A call-forward number is received for a subscriber. The computer system identifies a class of service associated with the subscriber and reconfigures the call-forward number by prepending any missing digits and/or deleting any extraneous characters as necessary, based on the class of service. The computer system then validates the call-forward number, based on the subscriber's class of service. The reconfigured and validated call-forward number is stored by the computer system, and thereafter calls received for the subscriber are forwarded to the call-forward number.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 9, 2003Publication date: December 9, 2004Inventors: John I.
