Abstract: A method of verifying a receiving of an item by a purchaser is disclosed. An indication that the purchaser agreed to purchase the item is received. A record is added to a purchase history associated with the purchaser, the record including a data item pertaining to the purchasing of the item. A notification that the purchaser has scanned information from a label on a package is received. It is determined that the package contains the item based on a correspondence between the data item and the information from the label. The record is updated to include verification data that the purchaser received the item.

Abstract: A method of handling negotiations between a seller of an item and prospective buyers of the item is disclosed. A first offer for the item is received. The first offer includes a first item price and a first item quantity. A second offer for the item is received. The second offer includes a second item price and a second item quantity. It is detected that a first prospective buyer submitted a payment corresponding to the first offer before a second prospective buyer submitted a payment corresponding to the second offer. Based on an item quantity of the seller being less than the first quantity plus the second quantity, the seller is notified that the seller has an obligation to provide the first item quantity of the item to the first prospective buyer, but not the second quantity of the item to the second prospective buyer.

The item listing comprises an original term of sale, is associated with a seller, and belongs to a cluster of item listings. The user can submit a preferred term of sale for the item listing. The preferred term of sale reflects an adjustment of the original term of sale. Information that incorporates the preferred term of sale is presented to a seller of an item listing that belongs to the cluster of item listings. The seller can adjust the original term of sale for the seller's item listing. The adjusted term of sale can be presented selectively to users who have submitted a preferred term of sale for any item listing belonging to the cluster of item listings.
