  • Publication number: 20130184414
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparation of polyester resin in the presence of a novel catalyst system comprising an antimony compound and inorganic tin compound. The present invention also relates to a catalyst system for the preparation of polyester comprising an antimony compound and inorganic tin compound which reduces the polymerization time at all stages of polyester synthesis and reduces the generation of degradation product. This invention further relates to polyester resin with improved L color having significant importance in end-use applications.

  • Publication number: 20120094050
Abstract: The invention relates to active oxygen-scavenger based polymer resin composition for oxygen barrier, a process for preparing such composition and articles such as bottles or other format of packaging. These compositions have an ability to consume an amount of oxygen and thereby deplete the level of the same from the immediate atmosphere surrounding the packaged content and at ambient temperatures.

  • Publication number: 20100222543
Abstract: Improved process for the continuous production of slow crystallizing polyester resin comprising esterification of at least one dicarboxylic acid or mono-esters thereof or di-esters thereof with at least one polyol, melt polymerizing the esterified mixture, preparing uniform crystalline hemispherical prepolymer by particle former process, adding at least one diol having tertiary or quaternary carbon atoms with pendant groups such as neopentyl glycol or 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol or any suitable diol at any stage during esterification or melt polymerization but before the particle former process; and solid state polymerizing the prepolymer to obtain high molecular weight slow crystallizing polyester. Slow crystallizing low molecular weight crystalline hemispherical prepolymer having IV of about 0.1 dl/g to about 0.45 and uniform hemispherical shape, uniform particle size, uniform crystallinity prepared by the above process and is used as precursor to prepare high molecular weight resin.
