Publication number: 20240095648Abstract: Given a set of port stations, a collection of forwarding orders to/from the port stations, and a set of available rail rakes along with their current schedules, a rake plan that maps order containers to rakes is generated. The optimization model is constrained by rake availability, rake capacity (the number of containers that can be accommodated by a rake), and the indivisibility of containers. The scheduling of the rail rakes can be represented as a sparse 3-dimensional binary matrix. Each element of the matrix indicates whether a particular rail rake is assigned to carry a particular container from a particular order in the next trip. The rail rake scheduling data can be used to generate communications from a rail rake planning server to multiple client devices, each client device associated with a different port station.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2022Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: Somjit Bhowmick, Anirudh Saraiya, Srinivasan Ramanathan

Patent number: 11834266Abstract: Technologies are described for determining a loading arrangement for hollow circular pipes. Determining the loading arrangement can comprise determining an optimal telescopic arrangement for a plurality of hollow circular pipes. Determining the optimal telescopic arrangement can comprise determining a concentric telescopic arrangement and determining a radial telescopic arrangement. Groups of hollow circular pipes can be generated based on the concentric telescopic arrangement and the radial telescopic arrangement that specifies which of the hollow circular pipes will be arranged within each other concentrically and which of the hollow circular pipes will be arranged within each other radially. The loading arrangement can be determined that includes the optimal telescopic arrangement. The loading arrangement can also indicate how the groups of hollow circular pipes will be loaded into a container for shipment.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2019Date of Patent: December 5, 2023Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Manish Goyal, Srinivasan Ramanathan

Patent number: 11403286Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for bridging a natural language processing (NLP) engine to a database engine, enabling natural language queries to be handled by the database engine. The NLP engine produces a query structure, containing an intent and one or more query parameters, for a natural language query. Rules are successively applied to the query structure. When a rule matches, a corresponding action is performed to identify a sub-intent, transform query parameters, or generate a filter string. The sub-intent is mapped to a query destination, which can be an intrinsic or extrinsic service offered by the data engine. A query string is constructed, including the query destination and any filter strings, and transmitted to the database engine to answer the original query. The disclosed technologies are flexible, easily reconfigurable, and future-proof. Variations and use cases are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2020Date of Patent: August 2, 2022Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Anup Bhutada, Rupam Ojha, Srinivasan Ramanathan

Patent number: 11274548Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media for resource-efficient generation of a workover rig schedule by receiving well data and workover rig data for wells, each well producing oil, determining sets of schedules by, for each schedule in a set of schedules, incrementally: calculating a virtual gain for each well in a set of remaining wells, each virtual gain being a function of a production gain for a respective well, a travel time of a workover rig to travel from a current well to the respective well, a workover time for the respective well, a first parameter applied to the workover time, and a second parameter applied to the travel time, and selecting a well as a next well in a schedule based on a respective virtual gain; identifying, from the sets of schedules, a schedule having a maximum cumulative gain, and outputting the schedule as an optimal schedule.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2019Date of Patent: March 15, 2022Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Ashish Ranjan Karn, Chandramohan T.
