  • Patent number: 9467874
Abstract: A technique: including receiving neighbouring cell information specifying one or more cells as neighbouring cells for a first cell of a plurality of cells associated with a gateway entity; and selecting based on said neighbouring cell information an identifier for said first cell that distinguishes said first cell from any other cell of said plurality of cells associated with said gateway entity that specifies one or more neighbouring cells in common with said first cell.

  • Patent number: 9386483
Abstract: A method and apparatus can be configured to detect that a signaling strength of a first network entity has dropped below a threshold. The method can also include transmitting a measurement report to the first network entity. The method can also include receiving radio-resource-control reconfiguration information from the first network entity. The method can also include transmitting a scheduling request to a second network entity, wherein a random-access-channel procedure is avoided.

  • Patent number: 9288694
Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for partial failure handling of bearer mapping in dual connectivity are provided. One method includes, during a secondary evolved node B (SeNB) addition procedure, providing a target SeNB with an indication of SeNB change together with information on bearers that were served by a source SeNB. The method may further include receiving, by a master evolved node B (MeNB), bearer mapping for failed bearers from the target SeNB, and providing the source SeNB with the bearer mapping for the failed bearers.

  • Publication number: 20160007235
Abstract: The present invention addresses apparatuses, methods and computer program product for enabling support of legacy user equipment and legacy network elements in small cell system for LTE and beyond systems. Each small cell uses a unique pair of Physical Cell Identifier and E-UTRAN Cell Global Identifier {PCI, ECGI} in the small cell system. In a handover preparation phase, when an enhanced eNB initiates the handover request procedure, the source eNB includes the pair of {PCI, ECGI} in the handover request message. Upon the reception of the {PCI, ECGI} from the handover request message, the associated eNB determines the target small cell based on the received pair of {PCI, ECGI}.

  • Publication number: 20140313982
Abstract: A method including maintaining a database of unique radio network identifiers within a home node B gateway, wherein the unique radio network identifier uniquely identifies the radio network termination point of user equipment attached to a radio node controlled by the home node B gateway.

  • Patent number: 8655354
Abstract: A core network receives in an uplink message a first list of closed subscriber groups (CSGs) located within one gateway domain to which mobility is possible for a user equipment UE. The core network creates a third list by checking the first list received in the uplink message against a second list which is the UE's allowed CSG list, and sends the third list downlink to at least one of a serving gateway of the UE or a serving access node of the UE. In one embodiment the first list consists of all CSGs within a domain of the respective serving gateway/access node; and in another embodiment it consists of all neighbor closed subscriber group cells of the respective serving gateway/access node which sent the uplink message to the core network. In different embodiments the third list is a whitelist or a blacklist.
