  • Patent number: 10496162
Abstract: The systems and methods described herein assist persons with the use of computers based on eye gaze, and allow such persons to control such computing systems using various eye trackers. The systems and methods described herein use eye trackers to control cursor (or some other indicator) positioning on an operating system using the gaze location reported by the eye tracker. The systems and methods described herein utilize an interaction model that allows control of a computer using eye gaze and dwell. The data from eye trackers provides a gaze location on the screen. The systems and methods described herein control a graphical user interface that is part of an operating system relative to cursor positioning and associated actions such as Left-Click, Right-Click, Double-Click, and the like. The interaction model presents appropriate user interfaces to navigate the user through applications on the computing system.

  • Patent number: 10353475
Abstract: Techniques for text entry using gestures are disclosed. As disclosed, a camera may capture a frame and the face of the user can be detected therein. Landmarks can be aligned to the face in the captured frame. A left eye image and a right eye image may be extracted from the captured frame. The left eye image and the right image each may be resized and compared to a calibration template. A direction of eye gaze may be determined based upon the comparison. A character or word may be predicted based upon the determination of the direction of eye gaze and a known configuration of an eye gaze board (e.g., an E-tran board). The predicted character or word can be included as a part of a text-based message.

  • Patent number: 10246810
Abstract: A washing machine is provided that may include a cabinet, a basket, and a backsplash. The cabinet may define an opening and include a backsplash bracket having a predefined footprint. The backsplash bracket may include one or more support decks, each having a planar top surface and a bottom surface. The backsplash bracket may define a first aperture extending through one support deck between a corresponding planar top surface and a corresponding bottom surface. The backsplash bracket may also define a second aperture extending through a support deck between a corresponding planar top surface and a corresponding bottom surface. The basket may be mounted within the cabinet and define a wash chamber beneath the opening to receive one or more clothing articles to be washed. The backsplash may be positioned over the predefined footprint and include a first and second engagement hook.

  • Patent number: 10087567
Abstract: A washing machine appliance and control panel is provided herein. The washing machine appliance may include a cabinet defining an opening, a basket, a door, a secondary control panel, and a controller. The basket may be mounted within the cabinet and define a wash chamber beneath the opening to receive one or more clothing articles to be washed. The door may be pivotally attached to the cabinet and selectively movable between an open position and a closed position. The secondary control panel may be disposed on the cabinet within a closed footprint of the door. The secondary control panel may be covered beneath the door in the closed position. The controller may be operatively connected to the secondary control panel. The controller may be configured to receive an input signal from the secondary control panel, and initiate an operative step in response to the input signal.

  • Patent number: 7737910
Abstract: A display system and methods provide for a large, high-resolution display that is scalable. The scalable display is made up of a number of smaller displays. The resolution of the scalable display is the combined resolutions of the smaller displays according to the vertical and horizontal layout of the smaller displays. The system includes an intermediate computer that acts as a primary client to a network computer to request and receive video data at the resolution of the scalable display. The intermediate computer reconfigures video data from a format consistent with the large, scalable display coordinates to a format consistent with the coordinates of the individual smaller displays. The intermediate computer sends reconfigured video data to the smaller displays (through clients) according to which portion of the scalable display each of the smaller displays supports.
