Abstract: A system and method for providing an augmented reality environment for a digital platform. The method encompasses receiving, at a transceiver unit [102] from an electronic device, a user input via the digital platform, wherein the user input comprises at least one camera invoking gesture. The method thereafter comprises enabling, by a processing unit [104], a camera functionality of a camera unit of the electronic device, based on the camera invoking gesture. Further the method encompasses receiving, by the processing unit [104] from one or more sensors, a surrounding environment data based on the enabled camera functionality. Further the method comprises generating, by the processing unit [104], the augmented reality environment associated with the digital platform, based on the surrounding environment data.
