Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for implementing an IP multimedia services or subsystem (“IMS”) within a communication network. One system may include a server configured to facilitate multimedia communication services via the IMS. The server may include a memory storing an integrated IMS function and an electronic processor communicatively coupled to the memory. The electronic processor may be configured to receive, with the integrated IMS function, a request to establish a multimedia communication session for a user equipment (“UE”) device over the communication network; and establish and control, with the integrated IMS function, the multimedia communication session for UE device over the communication network.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, systems and methods disclosed herein can configure a profile of at least one NF of a 5G network to support a plurality of requester NF types, including the type of network repository function (NRF). The NF profile can be registered with the NRF of the 5G network. Such NF profile configurations and registrations enable the at least one NF to be discovered by discovery requests that use NRF or a consumer NF type as the requester NF type, thus increasing interoperability between the HPMN and roaming partners that use different requested NF types in their NF discovery requests.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, systems and methods disclosed herein can extract an actual address of a visitor location register (VLR) and an actual address of a mobile switching center (MSC) from signaling messages from a circuit-switched (CS) network in a foreign country and forward the actual addresses to a wireless network (e.g., a 5G network) whose subscriber is roaming in the foreign country through the CS network. The wireless network can use the actual address to determine the identity of the roaming country and the identity of the CS network so that the wireless network can exercise roaming control (e.g., authorizing or rejecting roaming calls) and billing users of the roaming subscribers based on which countries they are roaming in.

Abstract: A disclosed method may include (i) establishing an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem instance, (ii) aggregating, within the Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem instance, multiple distinct cloud native functions that are associated with the Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem instance such that the multiple distinct cloud native functions communicate through a single Internet Protocol address, and (iii) directing outbound communications from the multiple distinct cloud native functions associated with the Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem instance through the single Internet Protocol address. Abstract: A disclosed method may include (i) obtaining, by a home cellular network service provider from a roaming cellular network service provider, a list of identifiers indicating respective ranges of Internet Protocol addresses that are targets for remote packet data nodes of the roaming cellular network service provider, (ii) for each respective server, in a list of respective servers that the home cellular network service provider assigned to respective geographic hubs, pinging through an on-demand cloud computing platform each usable Internet Protocol address indicated by each respective identifier in the list of identifiers, and (iii) discovering, by the home cellular network service provider, in response to the pinging, which Internet Protocol addresses indicated a healthy remote packet data node of the roaming cellular network service provider.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods for facilitating inter-network communication and network function connections are provided. In one example, a method includes: receiving a roaming request from a user equipment (UE) subscribed to a home network and roaming into a visited network, determining a plurality of first network functions (NFs) of the visited network, generating a Network Repository Function (NRF) discovery request for NFs of the home network, the NRF discovery request indicating an identity, operational parameters, and the plurality of first NFs of the visited network, asl well as requirements for NFs of the home network for establishing the inter-network NF connections, determining a plurality of second NFs of the home network according to the requirements of the NRF discovery request, generating an NRF discovery response indicating an identity, operational parameters, and the plurality of second NFs of the home network, and verifying the plurality of second NFs.
