    Abstract: Methods for creating a conductive pillar on a receiver substrate may include forming a dried metal paste pillar by printing metal paste over an area of a receiver substrate, drying the metal paste, and repeating the printing and drying steps. The dried metal paste pillar may be inspected so as to determine a height of the dried metal paste pillar. If the height of the dried metal paste pillar is less than a desired height, additional metal paste may be printed onto to the dried metal paste pillar and dried. If the height of the dried metal paste pillar exceeds the desired height, a portion of the dried metal paste pillar may be ablated. The dried metal paste pillar may be sintered so as to form the conductive pillar. Conductive pillars that are produced according to the methods may be used as part of the formation of a flip-chip assembly.

The system also includes a solvent sensor measuring an amount of evaporated solvent present in the interior volume, and a fan removing at least a portion of the solvent from the interior volume. The system may also include a coating assembly including an applicator and a flow meter, wherein the applicator applies a portion of the coating material to the substrate, and the flow meter determines the amount of coating material applied to the substrate.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for enhanced coating dispensing controls are disclosed. A dispensing system is configured to apply material to a sequence of substrates. The dispensing system applies a first amount of material to a first substrate according to a first value of an operating parameter. A sensor is used to measure a characteristic of the first amount of material applied on the first substrate. Based on the characteristic of the first amount of material applied on the first substrate, a characteristic of an amount of material, after being applied on a subsequent substrate in the sequence of substrates, is estimated to be outside of a range. The value of the operating parameter is adjusted in response and a second amount of material is applied to a second substrate.
