  • Patent number: 8940523
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pipette tip (100, 200, 201, 300) comprising a tip body (110) having an inner surface and an outer surface (112). The inner surface (111) defines an inner cavity (120, 320), which has an upper end and a lower end. The upper end has an upper opening (131); and the lower end has a lower opening (141). At least a part of the inner surface (111) is provided with capturing agents (151) of at least one type forming at least one capturing-agent region (150) on the at least one inner surface. The at least one capturing agent region (150) is capable of selectively binding target substances (152) of at least one type comprised in a sample to form at least agent-target conjugates (155), the arrangement of which define at least one agent-target region (156).

  • Publication number: 20080204713
Abstract: Sensor interrogation systems based on optical phase changes are configured to quantify analytes. Sensor chips and wells can include light scattering regions, light absorbing regions, or tilted regions to reduce or eliminate unwanted portions of an interrogation optical beam. In some examples, a spatial phase modulation is used to compensate static birefringence or to provide a selected sensor bias point. Phase changes can be detected based on state of polarization using interferometry. Optical resonator structures can be used to enhance phase changes to simplify detection of optical phase changes.

  • Publication number: 20070141722
Abstract: The present invention provides a biochemical detection system that comprises an exchangeable cartridge unit with light guiding tubes pre-coated with capture agent(s) and an optical detection unit Upon flowing the liquid or gaseous sample containing the target(s) through the cartridge until the target(s) bind(s) to the capture agent(s) and is (are) detected by the amount of light or the variation of its properties while guided through the tubes. The optical detection unit is comprised of a light emitting element(s), a light connecting element(s) and a light detecting element(s) that delivers the amount of target(s) in the sample under investigation.

  • Publication number: 20050011681
Abstract: The present invention provides a flexible weighing device, which can be folded and/or rolled into any shape. It comprises at least one measuring cell that induces an electrical signal proportional to its deformation. From the overall weight applied to the weighing device, the overall signal is computed and then displayed. The assembly is made flexible through the use of either a single flexible measuring cell or a multiplicity of measuring cells held together through flexible connectors. The flexible weighing device may also yield instantaneously the position and weight of moving objects.
