  • Publication number: 20220394396
Abstract: A processing system obtains a deformation signal generated by a deformation sensor. The deformation signal is indicative of a deformation of an outer ear of a user of a hearing instrument. Additionally, the processing system obtains an EMG signal generated by an electrode in a concha of the user, wherein the electrode is configured to detect activity of an intrinsic auricular muscle of the user. Furthermore, the processing system generates information regarding an auditory attention state of the user based on the deformation signal and the EMG signal. The processing system controls, based on the information regarding the auditory attention state of the user, the parameter of the audio system.

  • Patent number: 10924869
Abstract: A sound processing system measures one or more periauricular muscle signals from one or more periauricular muscles of a user. Additionally, the sound processing system computes, based on the periauricular muscle signals, an estimate of an angle corresponding to a direction of a current auditory attention locus of the user with respect to a reference point or plane. The sound processing system controls, based on the estimate of the angle, an operating characteristic of the sound processing system.

  • Patent number: 7266208
Abstract: The invention concerns a hearing aid comprising: an outer housing (1) containing a signal processing module (11) connected in input to at least a microphone (13) and in output to an earphone for transmitting a sound signal into the patient's external auditory canal (5); at least one first magnetic component (12) arranged in the outer housing (1); at least one second magnetic component (21) arranged in an implantable housing designed to be implanted under the patient's skin, at a site where the outer housing (1) can be maintained, the first magnetic component being arranged in the outer housing such that a magnetic attraction force is exerted with the second magnetic component when the outer housing (1) is placed at said site; and a device for delivering sound signals into the patient's external auditory canal comprising the earphone and a connection (4) between the outer housing (1) and the auditory canal.
