  • Patent number: 9280800
Abstract: A reconfigurable computation device for image processing, the device including a neighborhood-based computation matrix, generating pairing sub-scores between pairs of pixels resulting from a first series of operations configurable via a configuration register; a flexible reduction tree, carrying out a second series of operations configurable via the configuration register, on neighborhoods of pixels configurable via the configuration register; and an analysis matrix, carrying out computations configurable via the configuration register on the results arising from the flexible reduction tree.

  • Patent number: 9129345
Abstract: An architecture for processing a data stream forming matrices of pixels of dimension Nl×Nc. The processing architecture includes processing units and interconnection means making it possible to transfer the data stream between them. Each processing unit includes a control unit, neighborhood processors capable of carrying out the instructions from the control unit and a neighborhood storage unit enabling each neighborhood processor to access a neighborhood of dimension Vl×Vc. The invention makes it possible to extend the dimension of the neighborhoods accessible to the neighborhood processors by a coupling of two or more processing units. To this end, the architecture includes a storage manager enabling the neighborhood processors of the coupled processing units to access adjoining neighborhoods of pixels, and means for communication between neighborhood processors allowing for an exchange of data relating to the different neighborhoods.

  • Patent number: 8656102
Abstract: A method for preloading into a hierarchy of memories, bitstreams representing the configuration information for a reconfigurable processing system including several processing units. The method includes an off-execution step of determining tasks that can be executed on a processing unit subsequently to the execution of a given task. The method also includes, during execution of the given task, computing a priority for each of the tasks that can be executed. The priority depends on information relating to the current execution of the given task. The method also includes, during execution of the given task, sorting the tasks that can be executed in the order of their priorities. The method also includes, during execution of the given task, preloading into the memory, bitstreams representing the information of the configurations for the execution of the tasks that can be executed, while favoring the tasks whose priority is the highest.

  • Publication number: 20100142855
Abstract: The image processing system using morphological macrocells comprises: an image acquisition device, a set of memories, a computation block, and a control system. The computation block includes k morphological macrocells (50) each including a set of basic morphological cells (51, 52, 61, 62) organized into parallel branches (f, g), each cell (51, 52, 61, 62) executing a basic erosion, dilation or identity function based on the use of linear structuring elements, the functionality of each morphological cell and the size of the structuring elements being programmable dynamically and the parallel streams coming from the basic morphological cells being combined at the output by an arithmetic and logic unit (70). At least one system for parallelizing the data for processing a plurality of lines, respectively a plurality of columns, in parallel breaks down a word into p parallel data streams and is connected to the p morphological macrocell inputs.
