  • Patent number: 8881392
Abstract: A method of using machining to repair a component workpiece, such as a turbomachine blade, from a known profile of the component, is disclosed. The method includes deforming the profile using a morphing method so that the deformed profile interpolates a cluster of points measured on the component. Deforming the profile involves comparing each zone of the component workpiece that has excess or insufficient thickness with elementary deformation configurations (EDCs) each in the form of a mesh portion and of points, the elementary deformation configurations (EDCs) being filed in a database, the database associating the parameters of the morphing function with each elementary deformation configuration (EDC).

  • Patent number: 8383979
Abstract: A part-holding device in a method for repairing a blade of a monobloc bladed disc of a turbo-machine, through electron-beam welding of a patch onto the blade along a junction plane is disclosed. The device includes a disc supporting device which supports the disc and an adjustable holding device which holds the blade and the patch. The adjustable holding device includes a platen which supports the adjustable holding device, arranged such that the space located above the junction plane allows for an electron beam to pass. The relative positions of the blade and the patch are set using the adjustable holding device that is supported by the platen, while leaving some space allowing for an electron beam to pass. Such a device is simple and reliable.

  • Patent number: 7825348
Abstract: To repair the blade, a patch is welded by an electron beam. The method starts by machining the damaged zone so as to obtain a zone to be repaired having a defined profile; welded on to a first test piece element corresponding to the blade, having said defined profile, is a second test piece element, corresponding to the patch, in order to obtain a start-of-run test piece; the quality of this test piece is verified and, if it corresponds to the repair acceptance criteria, the patch is welded on to the zone to be repaired using the same electron-beam welding machine without changing its operating parameters, and the repaired zone is reworked by machining.

  • Publication number: 20100095526
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of using machining to repair a component workpiece (1), such as a turbomachine blade, from a known profile of the component (B), the method comprising a step of deforming (32) the profile (B) using a morphing method so that the deformed profile interpolates a cluster of points (A) measured on the component. Deforming the profile (B) involves comparing each zone of the component workpiece (1) that has excess or insufficient thickness (20) with elementary deformation configurations (EDCs) (5) each in the form of a mesh portion and of points, the elementary deformation configurations (EDCs) (5) being filed in a database (100), the database (100) associating the parameters of the morphing function (101) with each elementary deformation configuration (EDC) (102).

  • Publication number: 20080000947
Abstract: This invention relates to a part-holding device in a method for repairing a blade of a monobloc bladed disc of a turbo-machine, through electron-beam welding of a patch onto the blade along a junction plane. The device comprises means for supporting the disc and adjustable means for holding the blade and the patch, the latter comprising a platen supporting means for holding the blade and means for holding the patch, arranged such that the space located above the junction plane allows for an electron beam to pass. Implementing the present invention, the relative positions of the blade and the patch are set using holding means that are all supported by a same platen, while leaving some space allowing for an electron beam to pass. Such a device is simple and reliable.

  • Publication number: 20060236765
Abstract: The method allows the mechanical characterization of a metallic material relative to a material constituting a part to be repaired and the validation of an installation for repairing said part by build-up welding with said metallic material. According to this method, a cavity is machined in a bar of said metal, the cavity is build-up welded by means of said installation, a test piece is cut from said bar so that it has a central zone consisting only of build-up weld metal and the test piece is subjected to an axial vibration fatigue test.

  • Publication number: 20060193612
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of repairing a one-piece bladed disc or blisk of turbomachine having at least one damaged zone, by build-up of metal in said damaged zone by means of a build-up welding machine, which comprises the steps of preparing the damaged zone, of building up the zone with metal and of re-work of the repaired zone. The method is characterized in that: the preparation step comprises the machining of the zone so as to obtain a defined profile; the build-up welding operation is carried out on a test piece, called start-of-run test piece, having said defined profile, using a build-up welding machine, which is a laser-type machine and the operating parameters of which are preset; the quality of the test piece after build-up welding is checked; and, if the quality of the test piece corresponds to the acceptance criteria, the zone to be repaired is built up using the same machine without changing the operating parameters thereof.
