  • Patent number: 11446595
Abstract: A fuel filter system that does not require the periodic draining of a water sump. The system includes a fuel tank for storing fuel and a fuel filter fluidly coupled to the fuel tank for separating water from the fuel. A fuel pump has a suction side and a high pressure side. The high pressure side of the fuel pump is fluidly coupled to the fuel filter for pumping fuel to the fuel filter. A water emulsifier, such as an orifice, is fluidly coupled to the fuel filter to receive water and fuel from the fuel filter and form a water-fuel emulsion. The water-fuel emulsion is supplied to any point in the system on the suction side of the fuel pump, such that the water-fuel emulsion passes through the fuel pump and fuel filter.

  • Patent number: 10596507
Abstract: Assembly to be used to filter a fluid, containing a housing (29) which comprises a housing base (50) and a housing upper part (30) connected removably to the housing base (50). An axial shaft (34, 35) extends at least partially through the filter element (32, 33) when the filter element (32, 33) is contained inside the housing (29). A lower bearing (44) is arranged between the axial shaft (34, 35) and the housing base (50) and underneath the filter element (32, 33) when a filter element (32, 33) is contained inside the housing (29). The housing (29) is able to contain a filter element (32, 33) within it and the filter element (32, 33) fits onto the axial shaft (34, 35) in such a way that the axial shaft (34, 35) is rotationally coupled to the filter element (32, 33). The filter assembly (20, 120) has no bearing above the filter element (32, 33).

  • Patent number: 10201771
Abstract: A filtration system is described. The filtration system includes a filter housing having a central tube and a replaceable filter element. The central tube includes a gasket that plugs a passage from the dirty side of the filter element to the clean side of the filter element when the filter element is installed in an operational position. The gasket includes an integrated drain extending through the gasket. The gasket is integrated into the central tube and stays in place when the filter element is removed (e.g., during replacement of the filter element). The removal of the filter element opens the drain to allow for the draining of the fluid from the housing to the tank. The gasket is reusable and does not need to be replaced with each filter element replacement.
