  • Patent number: 9482557
Abstract: A sensor unit for sensing the angular position of a rotating element with respect to a fixed element includes a target fastened to the rotating element and a given number of sensing cells. Each sensing cell is connected to a connection device adapted to provide power supply, transmit data delivered by the sensing cells and connect each sensing cell to the ground. The sensor unit provides an output connector for electrically connecting the sensor unit to a reception device, a power supply system and the ground, via a connection cable having at least two connection wires. The connector includes, for each wire of the connection cable, a connection pin having a clamp portion adapted to receive an end of the wire, and a plug portion adapted to make a pressing contact with the connection device.

  • Patent number: 9187876
Abstract: This detection system (40) comprises a detection assembly (50) for detecting a rotation parameter of one of the two parts with respect to the other, electrical connecting means (150, 160) adapted to connect the detection assembly (50) to a control unit. The electrical connecting means comprise at least one electric cable (150) extending outside the detection assembly (50) and outside a pin, between the detection assembly and the control unit. The detection system (40) also comprises a bracket (200) adapted to connect the detection assembly (50) to the second part when the detection assembly is mounted within a housing of the pin (30). The electric cable has a first portion (154) which extends parallel to the central axis (X90) of the pin when the detection assembly (50) is mounted on the pin.

  • Patent number: 9188423
Abstract: This method determines an angular position of a rotary element in a system where a magnetic ring rotatably fastened to the rotary element in communication with multiple sensors each suitable for issuing a unitary electric signal representative of a magnetic field generated by the magnetic ring. At least two groups of sensors adapted to generate, based on the unitary sensor signals, at least one combined electric signal representative of the angular position of the magnetic ring. This method comprises; a) verifying the consistency the combined electric signal with at least one given rule b) assessing whether or not each group of sensors is correctly working based on the verification of step a); and if, a first group of sensors is not correctly working, disregarding its combined electric signal and relying on the combined electric signal of at least a second group of sensors for determining an angular position value.

  • Publication number: 20140122007
Abstract: This method determines an angular position of a rotary element rotating with respect to a stationary element where a magnetic ring rotatably fastened with the rotary element is arranged with respect to a set of N regularly distributed sensors, with N?3. Each sensor is suitable for issuing a unitary electric signal representative of a magnetic field generated by the magnetic ring. In this method, one computes a first sum of the signals issued by all N sensors and compares this sum to a first reference value. If the first sum equals the first reference value, one uses the signals of all N sensors to compute a signal representative of an instantaneous value of an angle representative of the angular position of the rotary element. If the first sum does not equal the first reference value, a series of defined steps to optionally obtain the instantaneous value are provided.
