  • Patent number: 10180391
Abstract: A device for conducting accelerated aging tests of a coating, notably an outer coating for an aircraft, in particular allowing the testing of the durability of the coating after having been subject to all kinds of stresses, is desired. An object of the disclosure thus relates to such a device including test chambers subject to different and/or independently controllable test parameters, and including light for generating photo-oxidation, the device including a support for a sample of the coating, displaceable between the chambers for generating mechanical stresses by thermal shocks. The disclosure herein finds applications in many fields of industry, and preferentially in the field of aeronautics.

  • Patent number: 8375780
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments concerns a traction pad to be bonded for coating adhesion or surface cohesion tests by tearing including a counterbore designed to control the thickness of the adhesive film. Support elements such as wedges or a border maintain the base of the counterbore at the required distance from the tested surface and openings are provided for evacuating the adhesive prior to its controlled hardening when the traction pad is applied on the tested surface.

  • Patent number: 8096190
Abstract: In order to conduct tests designed to determine the adherence properties of a coating on a substrate, a pull plate of a hardenable material is molded directly to the surface of a coating applied to a substrate. The pull plate geometry is determined by the mold cavity and is made of a material that adheres to the coating surface during the molding process. The pull plate therefore, is only used once, while the mold may be reused.

  • Publication number: 20070228591
Abstract: In order to conduct tests designed to characterize the adherence properties of coatings onto substrates, the process consists of creating pull plates of a hardenable material directly on the surface before the surface is subjected to the tests, by means of a mold. The pull plate whose geometry is determined by a cavity in the mold is made of a material such as an epoxy or acrylic or polyurethane polymer that adheres to the surface to be tested during the creation of the plate. The plate thus created is only used once, one mold being able to be designed to make several plates and to be reused several times.
