  • Patent number: 7718259
Abstract: The invention relates to a composite yarn including a filament yarn of an inorganic or organic material and a matrix of polymer material, the filament yarn being coated, extruded, or incorporated in the polymer material matrix. The matrix includes at least one foamed polymer. A composite yarn is characterized in that it has a core of an above-mentioned composite yarn and is coated, extruded or incorporated in a second polymer material matrix surrounding the core. Various methods may be used for producing the inventive yarns by coating and extrusion.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 25, 2004
Date of Patent: May 18, 2010
    Assignee: Chavanoz Industrie
Inventors: Laurence Pollet, Violaine Ducru, Stéphane Veran, Anthony Pajot, Stéphanie Lambour
  • Publication number: 20090202764
Abstract: The invention relates to an RFL film or adhesive dip coating comprising carbon nanotubes. It also relates to a yarn coated or impregnated with a coating according to the invention. It also relates to the use of the yarn thus treated for reinforcing an article based on a rubber material, said article possibly being a belt, a tube, a hose, a pipe or a tire and generally any object subjected to shear stresses.

  • Patent number: 6911500
Abstract: The invention concerns a thermosetting elastomer composition based on modified polycyanurate with improved thermal resistance obtainable by a polymerization method in the presence of a catalyst (D) of a mixture comprising at least: (A) a cyanate, (B) a block copolymer consisting of: a) at least a central block (B1) non-miscible with the cyanate and sufficiently long to provide the composition with elastomeric character; and b) at least two terminal blocks (B2) located on each side of the central block and comprising groups reactive with the cyanate, each of the blocks (B2) being sufficiently long to be miscible with the cyanate; and (C) a mineral filler reactive with the cyanate, in proportions such that the ratio r is not less than 5, but remains less than a threshold value to avoid phase inversion, said method comprising steps which consist in: I) mixing (A), (B), (C) and (D) until a homogeneous mixture is obtained at a temperature higher than the melting point of (A) and of (B) but lower than about 130° C.
