    Abstract: A ceiling fan comprising a plurality of fan blades, each positioned in a slot of a corresponding bracket attached to a rotatable hub. For each fan blade, a brace connects a mid-section of the fan blade to the corresponding bracket. The brace and bracket increase the support base of the fan blade. The fan blade is also, thereby, supported distal of its proximal end, thus reducing stresses at the fan blade proximal end. The fan blade may be positioned at relatively larger angles-of-attack without increasing the likelihood the fan blade will break.
