Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and method for minimizing fan noise during a data backup. In one exemplary aspect, a method may comprise initiating, at a computing device, a data backup at a first backup rate, wherein the computing device comprises a fan that regulates an internal temperature of the computing device. The method may comprise calculating a noise level of the fan. The method may comprise comparing the noise level to a threshold noise level. In response to determining that the noise level exceeds the threshold noise level based on the comparison, the method may comprise reducing a backup rate of the data backup to a second backup rate, such that the noise level equals the threshold noise level. The method may comprise performing the data backup at the second backup rate.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and method for training a player in a sports contest. In an exemplary aspect, a method may comprise receiving a strategy to be implemented in a sports contest by at least one player. The method may comprise determining a success rate of the strategy based on historical data of the at least one player. In response to determining that the success rate is less than a threshold success rate, the method may comprise identifying game obstacles in instances where the strategy was implemented by the at least one player and did not achieve the goal. The method may comprise determining a modified strategy that minimizes encounters of the at least one player with the game obstacles and achieves the goal of the strategy. The method may comprise outputting a training procedure for implementing the modified strategy for presentation to the at least one player.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and method for de-duplicating blocks of data. In one aspect, an exemplary method comprises for each previously de-duplicated block of data of a de-duplication engine, storing de-duplicated pages references by hashes and a block descriptor. The method comprises receiving, at the de-duplication engine, a new block of data for de-duplication assessment and determining a similarity of the received block to the previously de-duplicated blocks. When the received block is determined as being similar to the previously de-duplicated blocks, the method comprises storing the received block without duplication in the de-duplication engine, including pages of the block referenced by the hashes and the block descriptor.
