  • Patent number: 4089663
Abstract: A pulsation and noise suppressor assembly with an air filter intended for induction system in thermodynamic engines. A tubular housing with at least one bracket connecting a filter and its shield to a suppression cartridge unit. Inside the housing is a replaceable cartridge for suppressing pulsations and noise, the latter consisting of minimum one tube with optionally shaped holes made in the tube walls and arranged in rows along the tube generating lines with angular displacement each to another. The holes connecting a tube interior to the outer space. The cartridge tubes are eccentric to each other forming at least two chambers for suppressing noise and pulsation. Each tube wall thickness is proportional to the tube diameter, and each chamber volume is larger than that of the adjacent chamber from its internal side, the cross-section area of the holes being advantageously proportional to the tube diameter.

  • Patent number: 3971298
Abstract: A piston assembly adapted for use in nonlubricated high pressure compressors, comprising a piston having a plurality of peripheral grooves therein with a ring assembly in each groove constituted of one seal ring and one guide ring in a common groove. The guide ring is behind the seal ring in a direction away from the compression end and has a surface remote from the compression end which is at least partially conical in shape and abuts against a corresponding conical shaped surface of the associated groove. The seal ring and guide ring abut along planar surfaces, the guide ring being made from non-metallic material such as a carbon-graphite material providing higher resistance to shape deformation then the material of the seal ring which can be polytetrafluoroethylene. The guide ring thus prevents plastic deformation of the seal ring particularly at very high pressures of compressed gas.

  • Patent number: 3968737
Abstract: A disjoinable assembly designed for connecting of piston with piston rod in ngines and machines, this assembly being particularly suitable for use in compressors, includes an insert [4] and a bolt connector [3] mounted in the said insert, said connector co-operating with piston rod [2]. The insert [4] is U-shaped in cross-section, it has preferably the form of a cylinder with bottom [8] at one end, said bottom having a hole [9], and it is provided with bearing surfaces [12] in the form of splineways [10] or splines [14] , said bearing surfaces [12] being matched with bearing surfaces [13] made in the form of splines [11] or splineways [15] on the piston rod [2] . The insert [4] is fixed in position relative to piston [1] and piston rod [2] by means of dogs [20] , said dogs being formed by bending the sections of rim [16] toward one or more sockets [6] made in piston [1] , and by bending the other sections of the said rim [16] toward one or more sockets [17] made in connector [3].
