  • Patent number: 11044952
Abstract: A protective overlay for protecting a wearer is formed from a flexible sheet having a front surface, a back surface, a periphery, and a bottom; a pressure sensitive adhesive applied to substantially all of the periphery of the back surface for adhering the flexible sheet to the wearer; a release liner covering the pressure sensitive adhesive and being scored upwardly from the bottom of the flexible sheet; a crumb catcher formed by a bottom section of the flexible sheet being folded upwardly on the flexible sheet front surface and the sides being pushed inwardly to form a gusset. The release liner opposite the crumb catcher remains in place when the remaining release liner is removed for use.

  • Patent number: 6493879
Abstract: A self-adhering protective overlay employing a flexible sheet having a front surface, a back surface, and a periphery, with a pressure sensitive adhesive applied substantially to the periphery on the back surface. In one embodiment, a release sheet is removably adhered to the pressure sensitive adhesive prior to use After the release sheet is removed, the flexible sheet may be used and re-adhered to the release sheet for subsequent use. In an alternate embodiment, a plurality of protective overlays, without the addition of the release sheet, are arranged in a stack wherein individual flexible sheets may be separated from the stack, used, and then disposed or re-adhered to the stack for subsequent use.

  • Patent number: 6001200
Abstract: Broadly, the present invention is directed to an edge protector method and system for protecting an outside corner, e.g., of a room, which corner is formed by two walls or faces. The novel tape for protecting such outside corner is formed from polymeric material desirably having a thickness of from about 5 to 20 mils and which is formed from a pair of sides with an interconnecting hinge, said sides formed from a relatively stiff polymeric material compared to said hinge which is formed from a relatively flexible and elastic polymeric material compared to said sides, said hinge preferably being arcuate in shape, said tape having a front surface and a rear surface which is coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive. The novel tape is applied to the corner by its unrolling from the roll with the hinge in axial alignment with the outside corner followed by pressing of the coated rear surface sides on each face extending from the corner to form a corner edge protector for the corner.

  • Patent number: 5839250
Abstract: Broadly, the present invention is directed to an edge protector method and system for protecting an outside corner of a room which corner is formed by two walls. The inventive method for protecting such corner includes supplying a tape wound in roll form which tape is formed from polymeric material (e.g., polycarbonate) in a thickness of about 5 to 15 mils and which is scored. The tape has a front surface and a rear surface which is coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive. Preferably, a release liner is secured to the adhesively-coated side of the tape. Also, preferably, the tape and release liner both are axially scored. The tape is unrolled from the roll with the score in axial alignment with the room corner. Finally, the coated rear surface is pressed on each wall extending from the corner to form a corner edge protector for the corner.

  • Patent number: 5321206
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for covering electrical wall cover plates with wallcovering in registration with wallcovering on the wall surrounding the electrical wall cover plates. The method and template used therewith enable, not only the professional, but also the homeowner, to cover electrical wall cover plates easily to achieve registration. The method comprises the steps of securing a template to the wall in place of the electrical wall cover plate to be covered. The template comprises a generally rectangular thin plate containing apertures as those contained by the electrical wall cover plate. The template also bears rigid pins projecting outwardly from the template which pins are located at the corners of the electrical wall cover plate. The pins, then, define the size of the electrical wall cover plate and locate the apertures. The template, accordingly, is larger in size than the electrical wall cover plate.
