  • Patent number: 5620696
Abstract: A polymeric device and method for the control of insects on animals is disclosed. The device is in the form of an ear tag or other shape which can be attached to an animal using known techniques. A unique polymer/insecticidal formulation is provided by combining an ectoparasiticidal active compound, such as one or more organophosphates, carbamates, pyrethroids and organochlorines, with a polyurethane polymer. The polymer is the reaction product of 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate, polytetramethylene glycol and 1,4-butanediol. By utilizing the particular polymers described, high loadings of insecticides are possible and the resulting product shows no tendency to exude insecticide during prolonged storage. The product made according to the invention can provide effective control of horn flies on cattle for six months or more utilizing a single ear tag or the like where it would take two tags constructed according to the prior art to achieve comparable results.

  • Patent number: 5515875
Abstract: An improved compact container for the storage and dispensing of loose cosmetic powder is provided. The container includes a base portion for accommodating and storing loose cosmetic powder. A retainer mateably engages an opening defined by the base portion. The retainer includes a lower perforated panel which provides for a controlled dispensing of the loose powder and an upper closure panel which folds over downward and closes the lower perforated panel to seal the powder below the upper closure panel when the compact is not in use. The design of the retainer also enables an applicator or powder brush to be stored on top of the container below the cover or top of the compact container to provide a compact and convenient kit for the storage, dispensing and use of loose cosmetic powder.

  • Patent number: 5396861
Abstract: An improved system for attaching boat covers to boats is provided. In the preferred embodiment, a male/female connecting system is employed where one-half of the connecting system is attached to the cover via length-adjustable straps and the other half of the connecting system is attached to the boat via an attachment strip that provides for lateral movement of the connectors. Thus, one-half of the connecting system may be moved farther away or closer to the edge of the boat cover and the other half of the connecting system may be moved laterally along the boat side for easy connections. After all of the connections are made, the straps may be tightened to remove any slack from the boat cover and create a tight fit of the boat cover over the opening of the boat.

The device is in the form of an ear tag or other shape which can be attached to an animal using known techniques. A unique polymer/insecticidal formulation is provided by combining an ectoparasiticidal active compound, preferably an organophosphate, with a polyurethane polymer. • Patent number: 4326546
Abstract: A container or holder for a lipstick tube in which the lipstick is mounted in front of a mirror of an appropriate rectangular shape such that the mirror reflects the image of the lipstick to a potential customer and thus enhances the point-of-sale presentation thereof, and after purchase the mirror can be held in a generally horizontal orientation and has adequate length for the user to see enough of a reflected image of her lips to assist in the application of the lipstick mass.

  • Patent number: 4153682
Abstract: This invention relates to medically useful compositions, each comprising in intimate physical combination: (a) one or more of certain organophsophorus compounds, (b) porous solid particles of a polyvinylic resin, and (c) one or more of certain styrene/maleic anhydride copolymers, each of said compositions being characterized by the property of protecting the organophosphorus compound from adverse effects of materials which contact said composition, yet releasing the organophosphorus compound at a controlled rate to an aqueous liquid in contact with said composition.
