  • Patent number: 8754560
Abstract: A rotor for a permanent magnet electric motor includes a rotor core having a generally cylindrical shape with an outer circumferential surface and a rotational axis and a plurality of magnet insertion hole arrangements formed in the rotor core and arranged circumferentially at a preset angular interval about the rotational axis. Each hole arrangement has a radially inward side, a radially outward side, and two ends that are respectively spaced apart from the circumferential surface by respective bridge regions formed by the rotor core. The material of the bridge regions is metallurgically transformed by having its grain structure changed, e.g., by heating the material to at least its Curie temperature, whereby the material possesses greater magnetic reluctance than the material of adjacent portions of the rotor core.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 25, 2009
Date of Patent: June 17, 2014
    Assignee: UQM Technologies, Inc.
Inventors: Josh Ley, Stanley Allan Betzold, Victor Chieduko

  • Patent number: 7613929
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide methods and systems for authenticating an enrolled user of a biometric authentication and/or identification system having an exception mode, in which the enrolled user submits a temporary password during authentication. The temporary password is only generated if the enrolled user's identity is verified and the person authorizing a change to the exception mode submits a valid biometric identifier.

  • Patent number: 6858677
Abstract: A solution polymerization process in a series or parallel of two or more reactors at different temperatures is used to prepare a multimodal polyolefin resin of narrow molecular weight distribution. This resin is used to manufacture melt extruded pipe that has an improved performance at elevated temperatures and an improved hydrostatic design.

  • Publication number: 20030093585
Abstract: A web browser having hidden frames to transfer events and receive page updates. In order to improve performance multiple updates are streamed into a single frame as a single ongoing HTTP response. In one aspect of the invention, there is included in each update certain script code that is dynamically executed after the update is received, transferring control to an update routine, thus providing real time multiplexing over a single HTTP response.
