  • Publication number: 20240148950
Abstract: A dialysis catheter clearance device is for use with a dialysis catheter. The device includes an infusion catheter having a first end, a second end, and a lumen between the first end and the second end. The device also includes a flexible rod, within the infusion catheter. The rod has a first end and a second end. The first end of the rod is connected to a motor, which imparts movement into the rod, and the second end of the rod is located at or about the second end of the infusion catheter. Actuation of the motor imparts movement to the second end of the rod to induce turbulence in clot dissolving medication, thereby increasing the effectiveness of the clot dissolving medication in dissolving a clot located at the second end of the infusion catheter.

  • Publication number: 20230404736
Abstract: A vascular filter system and method are disclosed. In one embodiment, the filter system comprises a dispensing needle, a guidewire and a catheter releasably attached to a filter dispenser which stores a length of filter wire. The filter wire dispenser has a guide tube which guides the filter wire into the catheter and then into a vein during surgical implantation. The filter wire is configured to form into a predetermined shape as it is deployed from the needle. The shape of the filter wire captures blood clots in the blood stream. The filter wire may be configured with a perforated section and a non-perforated section. Perforations are in fluid communication with an inner hollow lumen in the filter wire.

  • Publication number: 20230233310
Abstract: An infusion filter design combines a fluid infusion device and a blood filtration device that filter blood during a thrombolysis procedure while allowing for complete filter removal on procedure completion. In one embodiment, a wire comprises a proximal, non-infusible length that extends partially outside of the patient and within the vein. The wire further comprises an infusible length distally from the non-infusible length that is extends within the vein so as to be placed at the section of the vein requiring medication. The wire also comprises a distal filter component at a distal end of the wire that is employed to filter the blood in the event that during the period that clot is dissolved it migrates toward the central circulation.

  • Publication number: 20210205523
Abstract: A method and apparatus to direct a drug directly at the point needed for a specific duration for dialysis catheters which are made in standard sizes. Disclosed is a combination of a rate and duration-controlled infusion pump and reservoir and a pre-measured infusion catheter with a radiopaque distal tip. Along the length of the infusion catheter there is a luer lock connector and anti-leak valve. The invention is inserted into a dialysis catheter where the preset marking is aligned with the catheter hub and the distal infusion tip rest at or near the end of the dialysis catheter. The infusion unit is then activated, and the drug is delivered at the distal tip of the catheter, at or in the fibrin for maximum effect. The method of use and device saves time and resources as it can be deployed without the need for a surgical suite or heath care team.

  • Publication number: 20200155751
Abstract: A graft with adjustable stenosis having a length of tube having tube wall with a central passage between an inlet end and an outlet end. A flexible barrier is located in the length of tube, that, in a default position, forms a narrowed section in the central passage and establishes a stenosis fluid chamber between the tube wall and the flexible barrier. An aspiration port system includes a port reservoir, containing fluid, and a needle entry seal, for needle access to the port reservoir to remove or add fluid. A channel is in fluid communication with the stenosis fluid chamber, the stenosis fluid chamber containing stenosis fluid chamber fluid. A separator is between the channel and the port reservoir. The flexible barrier is biased to a default narrow position. Responsive to fluid being removed from the port reservoir, the flexible barrier moves to increase the diameter of the narrowed section.

  • Publication number: 20170128190
Abstract: A method for constructing a vascular connector configured to bypass an occluded vessel which comprises a primary graft stem and a venous outflow stem. In general, the primary graft stem accepts a blood flow from an occluded vessel to bypass the occlusion. The venous outflow stem may extend from a wall of the primary graft stem and divert a portion of the blood flow to a native vein or other vessel of the vascular system. This configuration is beneficial in ensuring adequate blood flow at the vascular connector to inhibit the formation of clots and to extend the patency of the vascular connector.
