    Abstract: A writing instrument is disclosed having a tubular shaft. A grip is provided having a contoured surface for facilitating manual gripping of the writing instrument. The grip is axially aligned with, and attached to one end of, the shaft. A marking mechanism is also provide for producing marks. The marking mechanism is, axially aligned with, and has a first end attached to an end of, the grip opposite the shaft.
