  • Patent number: 4953868
Abstract: A swing training device usable by a golfer comprises an elongated lightweight shaft adapted to be swung by a golfer to produce either a desirable accelerated or insufficiently accelerated swing, corresponding respectively to a desirably or insufficiently accelerated swing of a golf club, relative to a golf ball; and sound producing structure associated with the shaft to produce a distinctive audible sound when the shaft is swung so as to define a desirably accelerated swing.

  • Patent number: 4877249
Abstract: A golf club head is formed to have multiple laminations above a sole plate defining a keel; a bolt is connected to the sole plate at the keel and holds the laminations positively clamped together; and the keel forwardmost surface may be sloped to transfer ground impact force upwardly to the laminations via the sole plate, and also via the bolt. A vertical bore is formed in the head to receive the bolt, and the bolt is inserted into the recess and tightened to the sole plate above the keel, to compress the laminations. Synthetic resin also bonds the bolt to the compressed laminations, along the bolt length. The club head and bolt head are ground to provide a smooth top surface.

  • Patent number: 4756534
Abstract: A golf club head has a front face, bottom and top surfaces, and a keel extending generally forwardly at the bottom of the head. The keel has a forwardmost surface sloping upwardly and forwardly from the bottom of the keel, to intersect the front face at a lateral linear location substantially above the bottom level of the keel, whereby the keel sloping surface on striking the ground during a golf swing will transfer some force upwardly toward the head.

  • Patent number: 4655457
Abstract: A system for fitting a golf club to a user-golfer and employing a fitting club having a shaft, a handle on the shaft, and a head having a face. The system includes(a) a first pivot on the golf club proximate the head to accommodate adjustment pivoting of the head relative to the shaft, and to a selected angular position about an axis extending generally transversely to the shaft,(b) and an indicator associated with pivot to indicate the extent of said adjustment pivoting, corresponding to "lie" of the head,(c) Also provided is a second such pivot allowing adjustment pivoting of the head 90 degrees relative to the shaft and about the shaft axis, and to a position wherein the head is adjustably pivotable about the first axis, and the same indicator is thus usable to indicate adjusted head face angularity.

  • Patent number: 4594582
Abstract: A pool alarm includes a float body, a hollow container received in the hollow body; and tilt sensing mechanism in the hollow container to be placed in alarm mode when a water wave tilts the body.

  • Patent number: 4416420
Abstract: A pool or spa portable fountain which comprises a pedestal, an upright tube supported by the pedestal, a duct which is supported by the pedestal to extend upwardly within the tube, a discharge head which is connected to the upper end of the duct and is capable of discharging water under pressure to form a fountain spray pattern, and a hose extending from a lower portion of the duct and via the interior of the pedestal to the exterior thereof, to receive a pressurized stream of water for delivery to the duct. The pedestal and tube are dimensioned so as to have the top portion of the tube project above the water surface level when the fountain is positioned on the bottom of the pool. The fountain can be easily and quickly removed or repositioned when necessary.

  • Patent number: 4325550
Abstract: A golf putter comprises(a) a generally horizontally and laterally elongated head having a ball striking front face, a heel and a toe,(b) the head having an integral and downwardly projecting keel at the underside thereof, the keel located intermediate the toe and heel and extending in a rearward direction relative to the front face, and(c) an elongated generally upright shaft having an axis, the shaft connected to said head,(d) the shaft axis directed to intersect the keel.

  • Patent number: 4319752
Abstract: A golf club head comprises: p1 (a) a metallic shell having the exterior form of said head,(b) the head having a front face adapted to strike a golf ball, and upper and lower surfaces, said lower surfaces defining a downwardly projecting keel which extends rearwardly relative to said front face, the keel having a downwardly convex surface which is forwardly and rearwardly elongated, said lower surface of the head having underside faces at opposite sides of the keel with each such face having downwardly concavity,(c) said keel defining a portion of said shell.

  • Patent number: 4313607
Abstract: A reinforced metallic golf club head comprises:(a) a metallic shell having the exterior form of the head, the shell extending about a hollow,(b) the head having a front wall with a front face adapted to strike a golf ball, and other wall structure rearward of a plane defined by the face,(c) and a strut extending in the hollow between the front wall and the other wall structure to transmit loading therebetween in response to the ball striking the front face, thereby to resist deformation of the front wall. The strut may be located generally above a keel on the head; and reinforcement ribbing may be provided on the front wall of the head.

  • Patent number: 4162794
Abstract: A golf club head includes wooden laminations to which a metallic sole plate is attached. The plate defines one or more integral studs which project upwardly into recesses formed in the laminations. Stud penetration of and attachment to multiple laminations, as by bonding, assures impact load distribution to the head via the studs and the bonded together laminations penetrated by the studs, which in turn prevents delamination.
