Patent number: 12039260Abstract: A system for generating updatable structured content includes a definition processor, a template selector, and a content generator. The definition processor processes an updatable definition to produce a plurality of reusable typed-templates, each typed-template having (1) an associated type and at least one insertion point at which another typed-template may be inserted and (2) a pointer to the updatable definition. The template selector selects at least one reusable typed-template and its associated type to store in a hierarchical structure as masterdata, where the masterdata contain a pointer to the typed-template. The content generator uses the selected reusable typed-template to produce the updatable structured content according to the associated type with pointers back to the updatable definition. A change made to the updatable definition may be propagated to the structured content and to the typed-templates.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2018Date of Patent: July 16, 2024Assignee: MEDIDATA SOLUTIONS, INC.Inventors: Martin Frid-Nielsen, Yau Pan Chan, Daniel Stanley

Publication number: 20230165705Abstract: A configurable time-delayed oral mandible displacement device includes a top member and a bottom member, the bottom member slidably coupled to the top member for movement between a non-extended position and an extended position. A control mechanism is coupled between the top member and the bottom member for controlling extension of the bottom member. The control mechanism an element fabricated from a shape memory material. The control mechanism further includes a heat-transfer control portion providing configurability by variation of a characteristic thereof. The configurability allows for controllably selecting a duration of an activation time delay, during which the temperature of the element fabricated from shape memory material increases to an activation temperature by absorbing body heat from a human wearer after the device is inserted into the mouth of the human wearer.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2022Publication date: June 1, 2023Inventors: Stanley Chan Siu, Jeremy Aidan Siu, Jusson Koo

Publication number: 20220387900Abstract: An inkjet printing system includes: a production apparatus configured to receive an original body template and to produce a three-dimensional body based on the original body template; a metrology apparatus configured to receive the produced three-dimensional body from the production apparatus and to topographically scan the received three-dimensional body to thereby produce an updated body template of the three-dimensional body; a control apparatus in communication with the metrology apparatus; and an inkjet printing apparatus. The control apparatus is configured to receive the updated body template and to create a topographical printing design based on the updated body template. The inkjet printing apparatus is in communication with the control apparatus, and is configured to receive the three-dimensional body and apply the created topographical printing design to the three-dimensional body.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 11, 2020Publication date: December 8, 2022Inventor: Stanley Chan

Publication number: 20210186371Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for assessing a respiratory function from plethysmography data obtainable, for example, from a pulse oximeter. A pulsatile waveform obtained from pleth data is processed to obtain a second waveform extending over multiple respiratory cycles and representing respiration-related variations in a pulse-beat area defined by the pulsatile waveform. The second waveform is analyzed to obtain information indicative of respiratory distress. A respiratory index that provides a good indicator of respiratory distress may be computed based on a magnitude of respiratory peaks in the second waveform. Applications to asthma and sleep apnea are described.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 8, 2021Publication date: June 24, 2021Inventors: Stanley Chan Siu, Jusson Koo, Zachary Andrew Siu
