  • Patent number: 4230406
Abstract: An apparatus which cleans particles from a photoconductive member arranged to advance along a predetermined path. When the photoconductive member is stationary, the particle cleaner and photoconductive member are spaced from one another. The photoconductive member is deflected into engagement with the particle cleaner in response to the photoconductive member advancing along the pre-determined path. In this manner, the particle cleaner removes residual particles from the photoconductive member during the movement thereof along the pre-determined path.

  • Patent number: 4039102
Abstract: A developer for an electrostatic reproduction machine has a dump door for opening and closing a discharge opening in the bottom of the developer. The door has two parallel channels formed therein and an actuator rod formed so that a portion of the actuator rod is slidably retained within each channel. The dump door is mounted to pivot about one of the channels toward and away from the discharge opening, a short support rod pivotally supporting one end of the door, and one end of the actuator rod supporting the other end of the door. The one end of the actuator rod is formed into a loop, the tip of which can be inserted into or removed from either of two openings in the developer housing by sliding the actuator rod in the channels. By inserting this tip into one of these openings, the dump door is locked in either an open or closed position. A switch mounted adjacent the support rod is closed to cause a count to be registered on a counter each time the dump door is opened.

  • Patent number: 4033294
Abstract: A magnetic brush developing apparatus having magnetic rollers with end sleeves formed of an insulating material. A trimming bar is provided having a concave portion below a leading edge thereof to facilitate the return to the sump zone of excess developing material. Magnets disposed within the rollers are mounted on channel members in a manner to direct the magnetic forces about each brush to ensure blanket coverage and a downstream configuration to direct developing material over a baffle associated with a cross-mixing baffle assembly. A screen is provided within the housing of the assembly to collect foreign objects. A mixing and transport device is positioned within the sump zone and is comprised of a plurality of spaced-apart augurs disposed on a shaft and a plurality of radially-extending bars affixed to the ends of the augurs.

  • Patent number: 3949704
Abstract: A magnetic brush developing apparatus as disclosed having magnetic rollers with end sleeves formed of an insulating material. A trimming bar is provided having a concave portion below a leading edge thereof to facilitate the return to the sump zone of excess developing material and having a flat surface forming a converging passageway with a said roller whereby to compress developing material transported on said roller.
