  • Patent number: 7597666
Abstract: The present invention discloses a detection device for detecting irregular intravascular pressure, the device including an analyzer for automatically analyzing intravascular pressure upstream of the suspected location of irregular blood flow, and a comparing device that correlates the recorded intravascular pressure to a standard whereby variation in the intravascular pressure during multiple tests is indicative of irregular blood flow. Also disclosed is a system for providing a warning of potential health problems due to irregular blood flow, the system including a detecting device as set forth above and a communicating device operatively connected to the detecting device for communicating a warning when the device indicates an irregularity of intravascular pressure during at least two uses of the device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 29, 2002
Date of Patent: October 6, 2009
Inventors: Stanley Frinak, Gerard Zasuwa, Jerry Yee, Anatole Besarab
  • Publication number: 20090221948
Abstract: The present invention includes a comprehensive replacement fluid system and method for the delivery of regional citrate anticoagulation (RCA) to extracorporeal blood circuits, wherein the system may include an online clearance monitor (OCM) and a circuit effluent online sensor system (OSS) for the continuous determination of patient plasma content of ultrafilterable soultes.

  • Patent number: 4369795
Abstract: A microthermocouple member which comprises two wires of dissimilar materials joined together into a thermocouple junction, the wires having diameters of no more than about 75 microns. The wires and junction are carried by an elongated, thin support member, particularly surgical suture material, which is thin enough to be capable of insertion into living tissue without serious disruption of the local circulation. The support member preferably extends beyond the junction and wires, to permit grasping of the extending support member in a forward-slanted slot of a front-pointed stylet.
