Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition in the form of a chewable tablet for the suppression of gastric reflux comprising an alginic acid or salt thereof, a water-soluble carbonate radical precursor, a calcium salt, a first bulk sweetener, and a binding agent. The calcium salt and either or both of the bulk sweetener and the binding agent may be blended via any of wet granulation, spray drying, or compression processes prior to admixture with the alginic acid and the carbonate radical precursor.
