  • Publication number: 20210370752
Abstract: An impact resistant vehicle cover assembly includes a first sheet that is positionable over a vehicle. The first sheet is comprised of a synthetic textile such that the first sheet is inhibited from abrading the vehicle. A second sheet is positioned on the first sheet and the second sheet is comprised of a resiliently compressible material to protect the vehicle from impact damage. A plurality of domes is each coupled to the second sheet and each of the domes is comprised of a resiliently compressible material to protect the vehicle from impact damage. A third sheet is positioned over the domes and the third sheet is comprised of a resiliently compressible material to resist being damaged by projectiles.

  • Publication number: 20180241476
Abstract: An orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmitter is able to communicate simultaneously with a simple direct detection receiver and also with a coherent receiver. The transmitter transmits a polarization multiplexed self-coherent signal by multiplexing a carrier in the polarization state orthogonal to the polarization state of the data signal that is embodied in the sidebands. In accordance with one particular aspect of the disclosure, the direct detection receiver receiving this self-coherent signal utilizes a single polarization analyzer before the photodiode, which simplifies the receiver architecture for direct detection of a polarization multiplexed self-coherent single sideband signal.

  • Patent number: 9906357
Abstract: An optical receiver includes a detector and frame synchronizer. The detector receives an optical OFDM bit stream having a plurality of frames. Each frame has an in-phase and quadrature phase component. Each component has an OFDM symbol-bearing data payload and a synchronization header. The synchronization header includes a single synchronization pulse. The frame synchronizer detects the synchronization header on each phase component. The frame synchronizer includes first and second pairs of digital comparators for each of the in-phase and quadrature phase components. The first and second pairs of digital comparators associated with each phase component establishes different and adjustable threshold windows that is symmetric about a zero amplitude of the synchronization pulse of the respective phase component.

  • Patent number: 8469068
Abstract: This invention provides a one-piece golf bag wrap protector for protecting golf bags from damage when placed on golf carts. The protector includes a pair of ends, a plurality of spaced securing holes disposed proximate an upper surface thereon, a plurality of fastening means having one end secured within the spaced securing holes, and another end being cooperatively secured to an upper peripheral edge of a golf bag. Attachment means disposed proximate the pair of ends for securing the protector wrapped around the golf bag. A plurality of female fasteners near one of the ends and a male fastener positioned near the other end at their upper portions for engaging one another to accommodate golf bags of different sizes. A bungee cord associated with the spaced securing holes and golf hand cart handles for securing golf bags on golf hand carts to prevent movement there between.

  • Publication number: 20060273269
Abstract: An inspection system and a method for measuring physical characteristics of a component using the inspection system is provided, wherein the inspection system includes a light source, a sensing device, a reflecting device, and a retention mount, at least one of which is movably associated with the inspection system. The method includes associating a component with the inspection system, operating the inspection system to cause the light source to emit a collimated light beam propagating along a source optical path, reflecting the collimated light beam via the reflecting device to cause a reflected collimated light beam to be incident upon the component to produce a component silhouette which is incident upon the sensing device, generating image data responsive to the component silhouette and processing the image data to generate resultant data comprising at least one of a plurality of physical characteristics of the component.

  • Publication number: 20060261294
Abstract: A system and method for measuring the physical characteristics of an object is provided, wherein the method includes disposing the object within the sensor optical path of an inspection system, causing a source collimated light beam to propagate along the source optical path to be at least partially incident upon the reflecting device, reflecting the source collimated light beam to create a reflected collimated light beam that propagates along the sensor optical path such that the reflected collimated light beam is at least partially incident upon the object to produce a silhouette, wherein at least a portion of the silhouette is incident upon the sensing device to generate initial image data responsive to the silhouette and processing the initial image data responsive to at least one predetermined algorithm to generate resultant image data responsive to at least one of a plurality of physical characteristics of the object.
