  • Patent number: 4086861
Abstract: An electro-mechanical actuator for sewing machines which allows settings to be made electrically and then acts upon such settings mechanically using the power from the sewing machine drive. This electro-mechanical actuator utilizes the full cycle of a sewing operation for the setting and positioning of the controlled function.

  • Patent number: 4074643
Abstract: A rail-bearing for the shuttle in a shuttle type sewing machine in which the shuttle housing is provided with a circular rail formed to mate with a circular groove in the shuttle. This rail-groove combination is so arranged as to deter jamming of the shuttle by thread or errant bits of debris. This rail-bearing has inherent high speed capabilities and is easy to lubricate and to manufacture.

  • Patent number: 4018172
Abstract: A feed regulator clamping device for a sewing machine, operative during the feed of a work material to insure retention of a selected feed against feed back of forces from the feed dogs. The device includes a clamping plate supported by a feed shaft to extend between the feed regulator and a stationary object such as a boss of the sewing machine frame. A face cam affixed to the feed shaft, which also supports feed cams, engages with the clamping plate during the feed of the work material thereby to cant the clamping plate and create a frictional connection between the feed regulator and the sewing machine frame.

  • Patent number: 3957004
Abstract: A hand-held single-thread lockstitch sewing machine or stitcher for attaching buttons, snaps, bar tacks, or the like, employs a boat-type shuttle for capturing the loop thrown by the needle. A limited length of bottom thread is stored by manually positioning a lever which directs the loop over a finger-like projection in the shuttle to trap the loop. Repositioning the lever will allow the machine to sew normally with the loop passing around the shuttle and picking up the stored thread. Bottom tension is applied by magnetically attracting the shuttle to the carrier wall and passing the bottom thread between the shuttle and the carrier wall.
