  • Patent number: 9493923
Abstract: A method of constructing an internally braced geosynthetic-reinforced earth zone and slope facing system uses a single-layered, three-dimensional, high-profile pyramidal-woven geotextile fabric in conjunction with a bracing assembly of bars inserted into the geotextile weave and bracing an upright fold of the geotextile fabric with soil backfill to form an upright geotextile layer or lift in a plurality of wrapped, reinforcement layers of an earth wall or steepened slope. The wrapped geotextile reinforced earth wall or slope system can be internally seeded during construction or externally hydroseeded post-construction to form a vegetated facing. The wrapped geotextile lifts can be sandwiched around longer, supplemental geogrids that extend the width of the reinforced zone for taller slopes and walls.

  • Patent number: 6125742
Abstract: An apparatus for coring and seed celling pears, apples, honeydew melons, cantaloupe and other fruits is provided in which a seed celler support tube is utilized to drive a seed celler knife and wherein a coring tube is utilized to rotate said fruit by one or more turning fins mounted on the coring tube. Separate and independent stepper motor drives are provided for the coring tube and the seed celler support tube. During a portion of the peeling process, the turning fin and seed celler knife are rotated at the same speed. In order to sever the seed cell, the seed celler blade is caused to either rotate faster or slower than the turning fin to sever the seed cell.

  • Patent number: 5361940
Abstract: A ram assembly is designed for evacuating "bag-in-a-box" square bulk containers of viscous materials. The ram cylinder is centered over the bulk container and mounted so as to float relative to the frame allowing accomodation of various containers. An inflatable wiper seal is used in conjunction with elastomeric corner seals to tightly seal the corners.

  • Patent number: 5060759
Abstract: In order to continuously supply lubricant to compressor bearings independent of attitude, and under varying gravitational forces, an oil supply system (10) includes an oil sump (14), a pump (22), and a suction tube (24). The oil sump (14) is defined at least in part by a pair of intersecting sump walls (16, 18) each of which may comprise a primary wall dependent upon instantaneous compressor attitude. The pump (22) is adapted to supply the compressor with oil (20) while at the same time removing gases from the oil (20) and expelling the removed gases into the oil sump (14). Additionally, the suction tube extends from the pump to a strategic point within the oil sump (14) for drawing oil (20) from the oil sump (14) to the pump (22) in a manner assisting in priming and repriming during brief interruptions in the flow of oil (20) from the oil sump (14).

  • Patent number: 4667750
Abstract: A vibratory earth penetrator employing a high pressure air distributor and an oscillating mechanism has the ability to dig down to underground utilities and contact those utilities without damaging them. The invention includes a hollow elongated tube having a plurality of air lances at the bottom end thereof. The air is preferably distributed to the air lances by an air distributor in a criss-cross sequence. An oscillating eccentric weight is synchronized with the air distributor to enhance the digging effect of the device. The penetrator is supported by a boom which includes an automatic tension device for providing sufficient upward force to keep the penetrator in the vertical attitude while allowing the weight of the penetrator to provide enough force to permit the device to dig into the ground. Since the digging action is accompanied by very little downward force, it is possible to contact underground utilities without hurting them.
