Abstract: Apparatus for locking an out the front knife having a blade assembly moveable with respect to a handle assembly between an extended position and a retracted position comprises a first guide member in the handle assembly, the first guide member having a first longitudinal slot defined therein, the first longitudinal slot having first front locking features at a forward portion thereof and first rear locking features at a rearward portion thereof, and a locking member rotatably coupled to a tang portion of the blade assembly, the locking member having at least one locking protrusion thereon, wherein the locking member is rotatable between a sliding position wherein the locking protrusion is aligned with the first longitudinal slot and a locking position wherein the locking protrusion is not aligned with the first longitudinal slot.
