  • Patent number: 7266503
Abstract: An enterprise provides procurement services to a plurality of companies organized in company groups, each company group including those companies using the same accounting rules. These services are accessed by customer company employees, or users. The creation and maintenance of user profile for each user authorized by a customer company is accomplished according company groupings. Company name is passed to the enterprise in a human resource file or interface, to which a company grouping code is added. That data is loaded into employee staging tables from which an application builds a user profile table which, for new users, does not include company code and location code. These codes will be populated to the profile the first time the user logs in for service and selects from a drop down list describing all work locations for his company group a line item including a description of his work location.

  • Patent number: 6631380
Abstract: Occurrences of data records in a non-relational database are counted by first selecting rows of data records. A counter field is created and appended to the selected rows. The counter field is weighted with a fixed value which may be different for different selected rows. A summation is performed on the weighted counter fields to count and subsequently display occurrences of data records. Various counts may be dynamically displayed in response to selection of sort columns in a view of the selected rows of data records.

  • Patent number: 6029144
Abstract: According to the present invention, a system and method for checking expense entries for compliance with policy rules and detecting the possibility of fraud is provided. The preferred embodiment includes a policy checker comprising a knowledge based system designed to determine expense entries' compliance with policy rules and detect a possibility of fraud. The preferred embodiment also includes an auditor workflow system that works with the policy checker to guide manual audits of those expense entries that are not in compliance with the policy rules. The preferred embodiment also includes a data pattern analyzer that detects patterns of behavior that can be indicative of fraud.
