  • Patent number: 6691370
Abstract: The invention relates to a unique door hinge which does not employ pin receiving knuckles which are normally us in more conventional hinges. The unique hinge, provides two hinge leafs, the first of which has a flat web which terminates at an open end loop which is coextensive with the web and defines a space for matingly receiving a head portion which is at the termination of the web of the second leaf. The head portion is rotatable within the loop portion and is segmented by longitudinally spaced spaces for receiving plastic bearings which facilitate rotation of the hinge and support the movable hinge leaf relative to the fixed hinge leaf of a normally mounted door hinge.

  • Patent number: 6061874
Abstract: A lightweight piano-type hinge is comprised of a pair of conventional leafs with knuckles which are in mating meshing relation. The hinge employs a unique hinge pine which comprises a pair of different length hinge pins with an attached coil spring between them for resisting relative rotation of the leafs to spring load the hinge. A pair of large headed machine screw are at each end of the leafs to threadably engage the hinge pins which are selectively secured to the two leafs.

  • Patent number: 5943824
Abstract: A device for reducing the spacing between the lock side of a door and an adjacent member, such as another door or door frame, should the spacing between the member and lock side of the door increase to a point where the fire rating of the door and member is adversely effected. A generally L or U shaped metal edge guard is mounted by machine screws to metal studs which are threadably fastened to the lock side of the door. The spacing between the edge guard and lock side is varied by adjusting the position of the studs within the lock side of the door.

  • Patent number: 4823437
Abstract: A continuous, elongated hinge is described as having a hinge pin which is comprised of two solid pivot pins which are oppositely disposed and axially spaced from each other. The more closely spaced distal ends of the pivot pins have a pair of parti-cylindrical lugs with a slot between them. A flat spring extends between the pivot pins and is received in the slots between the lugs. A hollow sleeve extends between the pivot pins and surrounds the spring and lugs to provide a smooth, continuous outer cylindrical surface for the hinge pin.
