    Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for determining and predicting the efficacy of therapeutics for the treatment of an individual with asthma based on that individual's ?2-adrenergic receptor. The invention finds particular applicability to the treatment of an individual with asthma with an inhaled corticosteroid or a leukotriene receptor antagonist who is homozygous for arginine at position 16 of the ?2-adrenergic receptor.
